When money is programmable you can do anything. Batch settlement on x402 allows streams, sessions, and effectively no cap on transactions per second.

Update: I’ve left Coinbase. I’m starting a company. I’ll continue to be involved with x402 as a member of the Technical Steering Committee with the foundation, and as an advisor to Coinbase on agentic commerce. In the new AI era, I keep telling software engineers the same thing: Become multi-threaded. Get comfortable with context switching. For years, engineers optimized for “deep focus,” while managers protected their time to keep them in the zone. AI changes that. The best engineers now orchestrate multiple streams of work simultaneously, delegating execution to LLMs while continuously reviewing, steering, and adapting. Context switching is mentally exhausting. But like any skill, it can be trained. Start building it now, and you’ll be unstoppable.
