The New York Times has *again* allowed a politician to spew total misinformation about "bail reform" causing crime. The NYT knows that exactly the opposite is true, and it printed the lies anyway without quoting anyone to correct it. This is how fascist fear-mongering spreads.
ALT Robert F. Holden, a Democratic City Councilman from Queens who endorsed Mr. Zeldin, said on Saturday that having more officers on the subway would not help reduce crime if lawmakers did not also fix bail reform. “This is welcome news, but without changing laws, these additional cops will only be rearresting the same people,” he said. “Gov. Kathy Hochul must call an emergency session of the State Legislature and repeal bail reform.”
