It was a pleasure to serve as a member of the Technical Advisory Group for Behavioral and Cultural Insights (BCI) in the previous years. The BCI unit @WHO_Europe is doing a tremendous job and it was great supporting them.

What a wonderful investigation of predictions from Prospect Theory in a field study. Cool data and some nuanced insights. Well done, @mkasper_ & Anna Esslinger! This will go in my next lecture on the topic.
🚨New Preprint! 🚨 What drives sellers to accept an offer or push for a higher one? To find out, Anna Esslinger from @EuckenInstitut and I analyzed auction data from the popular German TV show "Bares für Rares" (@ZDF). 1/

Does emphasizing herd immunity increase people's motivation to get vaccinated? This meta-analysis builds on @leonhard_reiter's outstanding master’s thesis (!), which was a true pleasure to supervise. It provides invaluable insights for both research and public health efforts. 👇

Across two preregistered studies (total N = 2,484), we found evidence of a decoy effect: the intention to get vaccinated with a superior vaccine (target) increased when an alternative was available that was either less effective or had more severe side effects (decoy). (3/4)

Our results suggest that health communication programs must be designed carefully, as multiple options act as evaluative anchors, which can induce preference shifts. (4/4)

New research alert! @PNASNexus People systematically and selectively underestimate the income of the top 1%, but not of other percentiles. This matters for policy and redistribution! Read the thread for more or check out shorturl.at/92olj... @jonj @hb_hooman 1/8
