SCOOP: Kalshi will start requiring users to fill out a form reflecting their employment in order to gain access to select prediction markets in an effort to combat potential insider trading.
Sensitive betting markets related to issues such as company performance and national security, including the war in Iran, are expected to require employment disclosure.
Kalshi won’t verify the employment information provided by users unless the company learns of suspicious activity.
The increasing popularity of prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket has compounded pressure on them to address suspicious activity, with lawmakers, regulators and prosecutors raising concerns about insider trading.

"Today, we are setting new industry integrity standards by implementing an exchange-wide framework for assessing insider manipulation and national security risk levels for all markets, requiring submission of employment information to trade in higher-risk markets, and providing reporting features across all markets for whistleblower submissions. It is important all prediction markets ensure they are safe places to trade, and Kalshi will continue to lead the industry on market integrity amongst federally regulated exchanges."

NEW: Kalshi now says it prohibits paid creators from calling into question the integrity or accuracy of an election, legal ruling or official determination in connection with an election.
It follows Kalshi cracking down on paid affiliates who were spreading misinformation about California's election.
Polymarket has not responded to questions about whether it is acting on paid affiliates amplifying election misinfo, nor if it has any rules against it.
