TY!! So many services to showcase - have a look @gerisoc website! Including ours @GSTTnhs which like @geriatricsdoc sees around 170 older people a month in ED & supports 70% to get home without needing admission. System level change is possible!! @GSTTGeriatrics @icabbs @NHSGIRFT

The aim was to raise awareness and stimulate a discussion. Good to see everyone talking. Beware of anecdotes and n=1. Read POISE3 and the other papers

RCT of Tranexamic acid (TXA) vs placebo in non cardiac surgery published by @NEJM this week. TXA reduces bleeding and does not really increase cardiovascular events (although the paper suggests this is not definite, it is good enough for me). tinyurl.com/384zk2xc

Good to see the value of limb salvage clinics being highlighted
Delighted to present on behalf of @vsgbi at @CXSymposium. We too often fail to recognise success. Important to share the achievements of Manchester’s MARS and Leicester’s VaLS.
