My response to inaccurate information which @IrishTimes published on #prostatecancer & #screening was not accepted in @ITletters. Given the gravity of publishing incorrect recommendations & the impact this has on men & front line GPs, it’s important to have the error documented.

Where GPs are resourced to provide structured care to patients health, outcomes improve and pressure on hospitals reduce. The IMO urges Government to ensure health policy is led by medical evidence and not by politically motivated promises.

1st Jan 2023 - Our public health services are in an endless cycle of crisis. Too few doctors, too few beds and too few healthcare professionals. We are simply not investing enough in recruiting staff and increasing capacity to meet the needs of patients.
