@AngelaRayner I have a flat that can't be sold because of cladding. Been waiting 6 yrs for remediation but no progress. I have to afford to buy a 2nd home for my growing family, and I'll have to pay 2nd home stamp duty despite only wanting 1 home. I'm shocked at Labour hypocrisy

I've written to Government flagging the 2nd home stamp duty issue for cladding victims. No compassion. No support. And here you are talking about the complexities of modern life whilst avoiding tax... How about focusing on your voters for once and living by your fiscal ideology

Couldn't agree more. So when is @ITV going to make their big drama about it? When will the mainstream media actually focus on this, rather than Gregg Wallace? People are committing suicide and the government is doing nothing. We were quoted an 80 year timeframe for our building.

(1/2) @thameswater this is now a full week since residents in SW15 Putney been having issue with water supply. No info given, no update, no support. We are just been told to wait out. What about vulnerable residents?! Tankering is a bodge and we need a permanent fix.

bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-6… @michaelgove how about sorting the #claddingcrisis before charging those of us who can't sell or live in our "second homes". We're not all landed gentry... Just average people working hard to get out of a situation government created

I was a 25yr old who didn't go on holiday, barely ate out, lived in dives to save what I could... and all I could afford was a 25% share in my flat. 25% which could now cost me so, so much more than money. Honestly wish I'd had a few more lattes and seen the world instead.

So, if Gove does ban combustible material manufacturers, many of the toxicity, property protection & large scale testing challenges disappear instantly & regulatory requirements can be written in clear terms, facilitating robust design, product identification & building control.

It's impossible for leaseholders to win any lawsuit. These companies have in-house lawyers that keep you running in circles for so long you will be buried in legal costs. My freehold owner is worth Β£6.6bn (2011) how can anyone win against that?

Oh Sophie I know exactly how you feel No matter what is discussed or stated in Parliament, our lovely MA just keeps sending bills with no details or invoices to back up the increased bills. We need regulation of these extortion/racketeering cowboys as soon as possible to end this

@NickFerrariLBC please can you ask @michaelgove this on behalf of many trapped leaseholders. Our freeholder @MetTVH refuses to instruct our EWS1 survey - they've given us an 80 year timeframe. Our issue isn't about playing for cladding (yet) but just finding out if we have it.

We can't sell until we have an EWS1 form (under 18m). @RICSnews isn't changing their guidance, so we still need this survey done despite what government says...! Please put laws in place to allow leaseholders to instruct the survey *or* force developers to complete within 12mnth

Unbelievably stressful not being able to move on with your life plans. @michaelgove I bought a new u18m flat with a 10yr warranty. How is this mess even possible? Withdraw the advice note if we’re worrying unnecessarily? #EndOurCladdingScandal @RishiSunak @BorisJohnson

I was looking forward to talking to students at the Cambridge Union this Friday, but I hear that someone there has been blacklisted for doing an impersonation of Hitler I regret that I did the same on a Monty Python show, so I am blacklisting myself before someone else does

The Government must create a system where problems are found, problems are fixed, works are funded - and that those responsible are then asked to pay the costs of their faults. I do not think that the Building Safety Act and the Fire Safety Bill yet achieve these necessary aims.

Goodness @NetflixUK Maybe take a look at the world we live in right now and stop pumping out documentaries about young women being murdered. Every time I log in there's a new one... It's almost like you're glorifying it...

#protest tomorrow! We need to show @michaelgove how big the challenge is so he can get to work immediately.
Yes. It’s vital everyone gets to the protest tomorrow in Parliament Square 1-4. The new Secretary of State needs to get the picture, rapidly, that there is a serious injustice going on here, before civil servants impose their views. #EndOurCladdingScandal

Welcome @michaelgove to the disaster that is housing - leasehold rip-offs, flaws of Building Safety Bill, financial disaster for flat owners etc. Oh, and there is a demo of thousands of leaseholders outside Parliament tomorrow. Might we meet? @EOCS_Official
