I was writing some Python the other day and it occurred to me that over the last couple of years I've written and shipped C#, JS, TS, C , Go and Python to prod. The fundamentals are all so similar, and combined with AI it's much easier to read and write multiple languages

Sunk way too much time into hitting head off wall trying to figure out why my IAM policy wasn't working. Turns out my tightly scoped permission set ended in `aws:arn:.:/thing/* ` rather than `aws:arn:.:/thing/*`. The Lambda UI trimmed the white space and I missed it locally 😭

Power cut at home. First time in a while I've been coding without CoPilot. It's crazy how much time you spend doing stuff like writing generic boilerplate parameters.

I'm not the first to say 🤔, and I know I won't be the last, but wow. The LLRT Javascript runtime on Lambda is fast 🚀. Init Duration is super low, and memory use even lower 🤯. Has loads of benefits to your wallet and the customers experience. Full post coming soon! 📖

I've spent some time recently comparing Lambdaliths against thin/dedicated functions serving API traffic.
Turns out Lambdaliths are pretty fast 🚀 and the whole DX around them is quite nice.

I don't necessarily think it's always best to try and run your Lambda Functions locally, but the SAM CLI and Terraform does make it easy to run locally. I've written about doing so here medium.com/@ryan.cormack/deb… #aws #serverless #terraform
