Rumors abound among the Mi'kmaq that they were consumed by boa constrictors. I believe this is a page from Samuel de Champlain's journal

BREAKING: Amazon data centers used 2.5 billion gallons of water in 2025
Community note
Amazon's data centers withdrew 2.5 billion gallons of water in 2025, down 2% from 2024 despite expansion, or less than 0.1% of annual U.S. landscape irrigation. aboutamazon.com/news/sustainabโ€ฆ

Forget 11 Million years, when was the last day of work you put in?
Elon Musk just became the world's first trillionaire. The typical American household would have to work more than 11 MILLION years to make Elon Musk's level of wealth. We need a wealth tax.

Lots of tradesmen enter because they enjoy the work and the challenge, and don't pay too much attention to business.
People of high ability who enter a trade specifically with the goal of becoming business owners frequently make a large amount of money. This has nothing all to do with the "average wage" of a employee plumber. These types often have some quirk that prevents office employment, such as being dyslexic, having minor criminal convictions, explosive tempers, etc.

Interesting land case
Well, he has a point. The section of rail trail was constructed in the place of the railroad tracks, which had a right of way for railroad use only in his deed. It seems he was fine letting the state, and citizens, continue to use it freely until the state tried to prevent him from using it himself. This will be an interesting lesson to watch play out, pitting private property rights against state right of way interests (likely from eminent domain forced acquisition). wmur.com/article/northern-raโ€ฆ

He told the contractor that because of an IPO position that morning, he had made so much money that he had payed for his kid's college career. Contractor went on about how great he was. Obvious question- then why didn't he tell you about it *beforehand?

These town are supported by the student loan bubble. If the bill comes due the house of cards collapses.
Yes, if you drive cross country on the 2 lane roads and come to a small flyover town with a visibly healthy downtown, 9 time out of 10 there is a small college there. But many of these schools appear to be in their last decade of operation.
