One of the biggest mistakes I’ve made: Treating my team like they were entrepreneurs. I thought that like ME they would thrive with little guidance/authority, crazy hours and lots of autonomy. One day my head of hr took me aside: “if they wanted to start a company, they would have. They want your guidance, more structure and clear goals.”
