Being working class isn’t about manners or accent. It’s about whether you depend on your wages to maintain your lifestyle, says British trade unionist @MickLynch4AGS. “If you have to get up when the alarm clock rings and go out and do a job – and you depend on your earnings, rather than your assets – you are working class,” he explained.

You'll want to be sitting down for this bit. Water companies are currently £82.7 billion in debt, have paid themselves £85 billion in dividends, leak over a trillion of litres of water per year, dump sewage for almost 4 million hours per year, have been convicted of over 1,200 criminal acts since 1989 and an average of 35% of your bill goes on nothing but paying more interest and yet more dividends. And not a single company has ever lost their operating licence. 👇
Yorkshire Water and Northumbrian Water have nearly 200 criminal convictions between them. On 6 August 2024, Ofwat fined them £47m and £17m for sewage dumping. Fines not paid, will not be paid. Firms claim to have invested. No penalty for abusing laws leftfootforward.org/2026/01/…

.@LindsayHoyle_MP Dear Sir Lindsay, Helen Whately is misleading the House. No one EVER got a Motability car for tennis elbow or acne. She presents no evidence because there is none. She is lying to whip up hatred of disabled people. Please refer her to the Privileges Committee.

Tens of people’s bones broken,” organizers of the Global SumudFlotilla posted on the Telegram social media app. “While the world’s eye is trained on the suffering of our participants, we cannot emphasize enough that this is a mere glimpse of the brutality Israel imposes daily on Palestinian hostages.”

Ethnic cleansing used to be Israel's surreptitious policy. Today, it is Israel's in-our-face pride and joy. Time to ban Israel from every international organisation, like we banned Apartheid South Africa. Enough is enough! theguardian.com/world/2026/a…

This is Apartheid. It's morally disgusting - and comes at the same time as Israel is committing an ongoing genocide. To see the Labour Government defend Israel repeatedly will horrify the British public - it cannot go on like this.
BREAKING: Israel's parliament has officially passed a law imposing the death penalty by hanging for Palestinian detainees. At least 10,000 Palestinian prisoners could be at risk of execution.

Did your water bill go up again today? Of course it did, and no, it's not an April Fools Day. Time to end the fraud that is the water industry. Time to take our water companies back into public control.
Today your water bill is rising again, after a 26% hike last year on average. This is because the regulator is allowing extractive private companies to rinse the public. In Parliament I'm calling to end the failed experiment of water privatisation. Time for public ownership.

Replying to @Feargal_Sharkey

Tesco are making £4bn a year in profit. About 50% of their staff are on Universal Credit. Why don't we crackdown on this unneeded benefit for billionaires?

Last year water companies sewage works illegally dumped sewage on 15,000 dry-days. Yep that's right, there was no rain, no snowmelt, nothing, no reason whatsoever why WCs should be dumping sewage. But where are the investigations, the prosecutions, the water industry fact cats going to jail? Yea, you already know the answer. thetimes.com/uk/environment/…

Since privatisation water companies have taken more than £85billion in dividend and piled up more than £60billion of debt. Yet all capital and operational costs are covered by bill payers. So why keep a privatised structure for a natural monopoly like water?
