.@Annstua and I came to pay our respects to this extraordinary Welwitchia mirabilis yesterday. Despite our words of admiration, it kept its own counsel as it has done for the last 1500 years. It started its life during the decline of the Roman Empire, and continues to reproduce!

This change is long-awaited. But the badger cull will never be truly over until farmers want it over. For that, they must see bTB going down in response to other approaches. Let's take the time to gather the evidence, keep farmers on-side, and beat bTB together.

The Government will introduce a new bovine TB eradication strategy to end the badger cull and drive down TB rates to save cattle. By working with farmers, vets, scientists and conservationists, our new approach will tackle this devastating disease ⬇️

How disappointing. The Erasmus Scheme provides a great opportunity for young people to study, teach and volunteer abroad. What we need to see from ministers is real ambition to rebuild ties with our European neighbours - not shut the door on opportunities for many young people.
The UK has snubbed the EU over rejoining the Erasmus exchange scheme. trib.al/q0btm6E

Over 20 years ago, I was inspired by Gustavo Fonseca, a Brazilian professor who taught in Costa Rica. His passion for mentoring left a lasting impression. As we approach the second anniversary of his passing, his legacy lives on through the Fonseca Leadership Program.

My new piece has interactive maps of data from the election. It's striking that we now have two different party systems in England. Looking at top two vote shares Labour and Lib dems rarely fight each other: 306 Con v Lab seats 84 Con v Lib Dem seats 8 Lab v Lib Dem seats

Appalled by the Israeli Military strike on al-Tabeen school and the tragic loss of life. Hamas must stop endangering civilians. Israel must comply with International Humanitarian Law. We need an immediate ceasefire to protect civilians, free all hostages, and end restrictions on aid.
