UP Excise Investors’ Summit 2025 Draws ₹4,000 Cr Proposals,
Lucknow played host to Uttar Pradesh’s first-ever Excise Investors’ Summit in July 2025, with the one-day event drawing investment proposals worth an estimated ₹3,600 to ₹4,320 crore. The landmark summit marked a strategic push by the state government to position UP as a hub for the alcoholic beverages industry, focusing on expanding production, distribution, and marketing infrastructure.
The summit served as a platform for the government to unveil its revamped excise policy, which includes a host of investor-friendly reforms such as industry-specific incentives, streamlined e-governance tools, single-window clearances, and fully digital licensing procedures. Officials emphasized the aim to create a seamless regulatory ecosystem that fosters long-term investment and industrial growth.
Over the past few years, the state’s Invest UP portal has already attracted 142 proposals related to the alcohol sector, leading to 135 memoranda of understanding valued at ₹39,479.39 crore and the potential creation of nearly 73,524 jobs.
Among the 15 new proposals announced at the summit, the following projects stood out:
📍Keyaan Distilleries (Gorakhpur): ₹2,265 crore for a major ethanol/distillery facility. The firm recently inaugurated a 300 KLPD grain-based ethanol plant designed by Praj Industries and is now planning further expansion.
