Evil Right winger here - I loved Andor. It showed real people with gritty, imperfect lives fighting against a faceless, bureaucratic nightmare hellscape that far more closely resembled the Covid Lockdowns than Nazi Germany. There was sacrifice. Moral nuance. Struggle. And well written human characters. None of the tiring woke facade-as-human social justice warrior author-insert cardboard cutouts that Disney has been spoon-feeding it's mOdErN AuDiEncEs lately. You can argue all day about "media literacy" and how I "didn't get the message." But somehow, every good piece of art still points to the truth. Even if the creators don't understand why. Also... not sure where you've been since 1945, but our ideology hasn't been represented as anything OTHER than the ultimate evil for quite some time now. Believe it or not, we've gotten used to it.

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or stow away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them…See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was arrayed like one of these.”
Hummingbirds can pollinate up to 2,000 flowers a day and usually live around 4 years. She likely visited around 3 million plants before floating away on one she helped bloom.

Took him 10 years to figure out how to frame sucking up to the man who spread dirt about his wife’s mental illness as an act of masculine will, but he did it
After he lost to President Donald Trump in 2016, US Sen @tedcruz said some told him to take his ball and go home. “You aught to behave like a petulant little bitch,” Cruz said of the advice. But he said he refused and became one of Trump’s best allies in the US Senate

It's truly amazing how people forget that Coruscant is a literal CITY PLANET, -- while Andor focuses on the Government Quarters during the DAY; you can have your blade runner-esque neon-nightlife a couple hundred miles away in an entertainment block.
With Andor Tony Gilroy boldly asked "what if we made Coruscant look as bland as possible."

Andor S2 centers around a successful Imperial plot to paint Ghorman as an insurrectionist planet, giving the Imperials cover to gouge mine the planet. Like most “critiques” of Andor, this is just haters hating while feeling obliged to pass their tastes off as criticism.
The reason Andor is aging poorly for me is because I realized the Empire is insanely incompetent in the show and it ruins the whole "actually evil serious threat" thing In the prison Cassian was through in there were a total of like 30 guards in the entire complex, which was a vital slave labor source for the most important industrial project the Empire was undertaking The Empire sent more soldiers to antagonize Ferrix during Aunt Petunia's funeral because they are mustache twirling saturday morning villains instead of a serious entity

As for OP’s specific complaint: the Empire is so “incompetent” with Narkina 5 that Cassian spends a third of the season detained there, and he escapes by the skin of his teeth.

I've been thinking. Maybe before you were even born, God already loved you. Before your parents and your parents' parents were even born, God already loved you and sent His Son to die for you.

Gene Shalit pressing a Muppet harder than most journalists are willing to press the President of the United States
Rest in peace to Gene Shalit, a man whose Kermit the Frog interview went absolutely off the rails in 1984. Nobody has interviewed a Muppet like this since.

As a kid I’d see cyberpunk stuff (Blade Runner, Alien) & I thought it made no sense. Corporations supposedly ruled everything yet clearly the government still existed; there was military and police. I was like which is it, shouldn’t it be one or the other. What a naïve fool I was

Stopped by the site of the third Lincoln-Douglas debate in Jonesboro, IL, today. The statues of Lincoln and Douglas are life-size. Standing face to face with Abraham Lincoln was a much more emotional experience for me than I expected.
