My artwork made it to cover of @Dev_Cell! It’s a representation of the findings of our latest study. Can’t imagine a better way to mark my last day as a postdoc!

If you're a cell, taking the road less traveled can have deadly consequences.🛣️ Happy to announce that postdoc @FrankMacabenta and former undergrad Miriam Sun's new paper on quality control during collective migration has been published in @Dev_Cell! tinyurl.com/mr2md8rd

ALT CVM cells (white) migrating around a bend in the embryo. When they make this turn, they begin to proliferate and multiply.

WE ARE HIRING in sunny Los Angeles! (1) Postdoc position to study how signaling checkpoints act to ensure cells migrating off-track are eliminated by programmed cell death. (2) An entry-level research technician position is available to provide support. stathlab.caltech.edu/contact

On the brink(er) of a breakthrough? Susie @suztown explains her and Leslie’s beautiful work on characterizing the regulation of brinker in the ovary and its roles in regulating tissue homeostasis and Dpp levels! Read the story here: bit.ly/3Ksuwxt #Dros22

The @stathlab is at #Dros22! We are presenting posters on gene regulation in the ovary, our NanuTrap system, and cell cycle-dependent quality control during collective cell migration! So excited to be in our first in-person meeting in a while 🥳 🪰

Had a great time carving pumpkins with the @voorheeslab! The pumpkins were so cool -- one might even venture to say, gourd-geous! 🎃
Some pretty good pumpkins from the labs on our floor!

FP maturation times got you down? No prob-llama! Our latest study helmed by postdoc Zsuzsa Ákos and published in @Dev_journal describes NaNuTrap, a technique that utilizes llama nanobodies for rapid labeling of nuclei in #Drosophila for live imaging! rb.gy/acrxrq
