A new DP is out: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.…. @IsabellaMasetto and @diegoubfal reproduced "Targeting High Ability Entrepreneurs Using Community Information" by Reshmaan Hussam, Natalia Rigol and @BenRothEcon. The paper’s results are robust to all robustness checks. See below!

Updating some of the exercises for my class “Data Science for Business Applications”. If you have/know of cool (clean) data that can be used for causal inference and/or prediction, let me know! (It’s undergrad level, and topics can be broad).

Another day, another round of my feed being overwhelmed with people fighting about whether behavioral economics is useful or trash. This following days of "All EJMR All the Time." Can we go back to the equilibrium where people just s#*tpost memes and / or pictures of their pets?

Fortunate enough to see @JasonBaron4 present this at WEAI earlier this month and wow, what an incredible project!
New working paper w/@JasonBaron4, Joe Doyle, @NataliaHEmanuel, & Joseph Ryan: the first quasi-experimental study of racial discrimination in foster care decisions dropbox.com/scl/fi/1vm4t511r… I've learned a ton from my coauthors and the data on this project. Here's a short summary

Excited to see this in physical form! This books hits a really interesting intersection for students, and Rohan’s writing is very clear and engaging.
OMFG it exists (photo from a colleague in the UK). I apologize in advance, but this account is going to be (even more) insufferable for the next month.

This is why I always add "reddit" to my searches, though with recent stuff going down there I'm not sure what comes next...
I've said this before hut seems to me like Google is a house of cards. Its main value (search) has been degraded enormously, and the ad business built on top of that seems mostly bogus. forbes.com/sites/joetoscano1…
