Agreed! And, since the lawsuits have potential to cut off the financial safety net for "gender medicine" practitioners, they are the surest route to ending the harm. We strongly support the work of @themisRF, and hope that others will consider donating to support that work.

What happens to children who were harmed by sex interventions and want to reclaim their lives? 🚨 For the first time in American history, they have a specific place to go.  Texas Children's Hospital just made a huge reversal. They ended gender-transition services, terminated five doctors who performed these interventions on minors, and opened America's first ever Detransition Clinic.  This came as part of a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, following a lawsuit over the hospital billing Medicaid for these procedures under false diagnosis codes. ⚖️ For the first five years, the clinic will offer free medical care to any patient who underwent these procedures, recognizing the damage done and that those children need real support in the aftermath.  Do No Harm's Dr. Kurt Miceli called it a "momentous victory for detransitioners and evidence-based medicine alike." The doctors and therapists who facilitated @LJDetrans damaging, irreversible gender transition at age 13 will never face accountability. Gender practitioners have surrounded themselves with legal protections such as arbitration clauses, short SOL time limits, and legal maneuvering. Sex-modifying medical interventions should not be allowed for children and, as @ChloeCole so eloquently observes, they "are dangerous for the human body, regardless of how old you are."

A new article in JAMA Pediatrics, written by coauthors of the HHS Review on youth gender medicine, calls on the U.S. medical associations to align their guidelines with new evidence—while urging the CMS to allow grandfather clauses for youth who've undergone transition already./1

I’m sure you all remember Avery Jackson, the “trans girl” who, at 9, was on the cover of National Geographic in January of 2017. Avery was given the gold standard in gender affirming care: he was chemically castrated and sterilized with “blockers” to hold off male puberty. Now Avery has come out as “nonbinary” and chosen not to pursue transition, meaning that his puberty was blocked for no reason — but that’s not the worst part. He also identifies as asexual, meaning that he doesn’t experience sexual attraction. This is undoubtedly the result of the medication used to delay male puberty. The president of WPATH, Dr, “Marci” Bowers, has said on camera that so-called puberty blockers, which are used to chemically castrate sex offenders, chemically castrate the young boys who take them as well, leaving them incapable of arousal or orgasm. For adult sex offenders, the process is reversible. For boys like Avery, the effects are permanent. He will never feel sexual attraction, or any of the experiences that accompany it. He is also completely sterile; he will never father a child, and his own childhood was spent in the national spotlight. The blockers he was given have also stunted his physical and mental development in irreversible ways. We know from the experiences of other “trans” children that he will never sexually mature - neither physically nor emotionally. All of these things were stolen from him, and he has said that transitioning “ruined my life.” It’s high time that we stop pretending that children can make an informed decision to transition or take blockers, even if their doctors are honest about the risks and consequences — which most are not. Blockers are not a pause button. They are not reversible. The intellectual deficits they cause will never repair themselves, and neither will the damage done to the child victim’s body, or to their emotional intelligence and maturity. This will, of course, make it easier to push them into transitioning; ie, to sell them hormones and provide surgical alterations. Parents like Avery’s, who try to monetize their child’s struggles with gender identity, belong in prison, not on television, and so do the doctors and politicians who were complicit in his chemical castration and sterilization.

This is a win for foster families of faith across WA—and for kids who need good homes. As part of the settlement in DeGross v. Senn, Washington has agreed to a permanent injunction and will remove its current regulation on “chosen pronouns.” The state will also pay $250,000 in attorneys’ fees. This outcome would not have been possible without our clients, Shane & Jennifer DeGross. These longtime Christian foster parents stood firm on their convictions, even when it cost them their foster license. Now, countless children and families will benefit from their courage."

Chloe Cole has a pending lawsuit regarding the harm caused to her by "gender affirming care". While her case works its way through the court system, Ms. Cole is a vocal advocate working to bring attention to this matter and prevent others from similar harm.

The creation of the first detransitioner clinic at Texas Children's Hospital is a massive win and a big step toward exposing the lie that “gender-affirming care” is evidence based and medically necessary. Gender doctors and activists have to be FORCED to acknowledge detransitioners because their existence shines a bright light on the pseudoscientific lie that everyone is born with an innate and immutable gender identity we all sense from toddlerhood, that it can be misaligned from our bodies, and that this mismatch can be corrected with puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries. This is all complete nonsense. I am glad to have been able to discuss this with @PrishaMosley recently on @NTDNews.

At what point does following a fraudulent standard of care become malpractice?

If the American Medical Association's position on gender medicine for minors was based on evidence: 1) They would not have had to alter their position to disavow their prior support for surgery for minors following the @ASPS's position statement. 2) They would not have had to claim that their disavowal was not a change of position. 3) They would not have had to deny that the disavowal occurred. The positions of the AMA, like the AAP, the APA, and WPATH are the ideological dictates of a small number of true believers who have captured leadership positions within these organizations. Until they conduct rigorous, scientific processes upon which to base their positions, they will increasingly look incompetent as other organizations do so.
