A reminder that the bill will be passed and assented to.........
Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu. Habaari. Greetings to all of you. Of recent, I have noticed a lot of orwaari (noise, kelele), regarding the Sovereignty Bill. Which Sovereignty Bill is the rwaari about? The one I initiated in the Cabinet or another one? The Bill will stop FDIs (Foreign Direct Investments), support for religious bodies from abroad, Remittances from Ugandans working abroad, etc., etc. Really!! That is not the Bill I initiated. Below is clarification on what I initiated.

Report, Freeze, But Don’t Reverse: Hon Justice Stephen Mubiru’s Judgement on Money Laundering. Case law: Fabrice Brad Rulinda v Stanbic Bank Limited: Civil Suit No. 0235 of 2021. Key Lessons: 1. REPORT, DON'T JUST REVERSE
Banks have a legal duty to report suspicious transactions to the Financial Intelligence Authority within 48 hours. But they CANNOT simply reverse a credit and return money to the sender without customer consent or court order, that's unlawful debiting. 2. FREEZING IS ALLOWED (TEMPORARILY)
When suspicion arises, banks can freeze accounts while investigating. This power is "implied" into every banking contract, necessary to comply with anti-money laundering laws. 3. WILFUL BLINDNESS = KNOWLEDGE
If a customer deliberately avoids knowing the source of suspicious funds ("I wasn't interested"), the law treats this as actual knowledge of money laundering. 4. PUBLIC POLICY TRUMPS CONTRACTS
Courts won't enforce contracts involving illegal activity (like funding M23 rebels). The "ex turpi causa" doctrine means dirty money gets no legal protection. The case was dismissed and the Plaintiff ordered to pay costs of the suit to the Bank. #MoneyLaundering #BankingLaw #FinancialCrime #Uganda #Compliance #LegalUpdate #StanbicBank #TrendingLawCase Photo Credit @nilepostnews @nbstv

Entebbe International Airport Traffic Update – February 2026 Entebbe International Airport recorded 189,575 international passengers in February 2026, comprising 90,007 arrivals and 99,568 departures, an average of approximately 6,770 arrivals and departures per day. This represents a 39,387 increase from the 150,188 passengers recorded in January 2026. The February 2025 figure is also higher than that recorded in the same month of February 2025 by 30,072 arrivals and departures. In February 2025, the airport handled 159,503 international passengers (73,524 arrivals and 85,979 departures). On the cargo front, February 2026 recorded 2,955 metric tonnes of exports and 1,543 metric tonnes of imports, totaling 4,498 metric tonnes, up from 3,982 metric tonnes in January 2026. This also reflects an increase from February 2025, which recorded 3,157 metric tonnes of exports and 1,389 metric tonnes of imports. Overall, the upward trend in both passenger and cargo traffic highlights sustained growth in air transport activity. However, with parts of the Middle East airspace closed from February 28, 2026, and only a phased resumption of operations currently underway, several operators from Entebbe have been affected. As a result, traffic for March 2026 is expected to be lower.

I stopped banking with Standard Bank because they rejected my job application. That's a valid reason right?
