We are a Camphill Community. Our residential, day services and social enterprises support the life and work of adults with learning disabilities & autism
It was good to make my first (but not last) visit to @EdinburghPrints today. I met Janet Archer and Roseanne Tye from Edinburgh Printmakers (and other staff and artists - inc @catherinerayner), as well as Moira Jeffrey and Helen Moore from @sca_net.
We discussed the activities at the centre, the fantastic facilities and power of arts in Edinburgh and as part of "Brand Scotland" overseas.
It really is worth a visit - the exhibition is great, the cafe looks lovely and the building is fantastic... it was also good to hear they stock @tipherethltd produce in their shop.
This clip is of my βMaiden Speechβ. The tradition is that the speech should focus on two key elements β a tribute to my predecessor and praise of my constituency. It was part of the Kings Speech debate, so I also touched on that.
In my speech I made mention of some of the best things in my constituency: WHALE Arts, The Colinton Tunnel, Tiphereth Camphill Edinburgh, Soul Food Oxgangs & Water of Leith Conservation Trust. π

A socially healthy community has a finely tuned understanding of each individual part of the group while everyone recognises the needs of the group as a whole.

I started my day at @tipherethltd in my Ward today today. I was proud to introduce Cllr Tim Pogson (Vice-Chair of the Edinburgh Integration Joint Board - EIJB) to Tobi, Erika and Peter from Tiphereth.
We spoke about what makes Tiphereth so unique, and some the challenges they face working with the EIJB to deliver social care.
Some days are so engaging!! Today we taught 56 pupils from @EastCraigsPS, hosted 40 students from @EdinburghNapier for biology studies, provided tasks for our group from @tipherethltd and 3 teams of our volunteers did a clean-up, @Riverflies survey and hunted for fungi...phew
My old workplace. I just left this past September. We put that there for the Summer fair, and used our minibus to give a lift around the community to people with mobility problems.

Just like to say how impressed we were with your delivery of logs this morning. Very professional and the 2 young lads helping couldn't have been more polite and enthusiastic. It's great to have such a beneficial and well run community service in the area.
