We’ve been quiet the last few weeks, putting the final touches on our whitepaper and new website. The whitepaper is under review by many of our Cosmos & Ethereum friends And the website is now live 🎉 cycles.money

🚀 IBC x Optimism Excited to share that after 3.5 weeks of intense development, we're open-sourcing our proof of concept for integrating ibc-go with Optimism and Geth. This POC showcases a unique sidecar process alongside Optimistic Geth, leveraging a modified Cosmos-SDK rollup driven by Optimism, not Comet BFT. Our goal? To seamlessly blend blocks from this rollup and Geth into one, offering an experience where users interact with Geth, unaware of the underlying IBC chain recording state. 🌐 Huge shoutout to @Polymer_Labs for their groundbreaking contributions that significantly propelled our work forward! 🌟 Though still in development and not ready for production, this exploration opens multiple potential pathways, such as using state transition functions with @cosmos_sdk's serverv2 instead of a full CosmosSDK rollup. We may also discard this work and consider other integration approaches for Optimism. I'll give an answer here from my perspective, although I'm only one observer (and perhaps biased). I also want to note that I still think IBC is the best, and certainly most-standardized, blockchain interoperability protocol currently in existence - nothing even comes close.
