Putting our strongest foot forward. We think pedestrians don't have to be apologetic. The most socialistic thing you can do is enable walking.

Just like hawkers who get a vending licence, can walkers get a walking licence on paying a fee, @chennaicorp? @CMOTamilnadu @kgbias @supriyasahuias @ErikSolheim @CAGChennai @Tambaram_Corp @Avadi_Corp @Mangadu122 @CumtaOfficial @jica_direct_en @WHO @walkabilityasia

DVAC REOPENS ₹27.9 CRORE BRIBERY CASE AGAINST FORMER MINISTER VAITHILINGAM The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) reopened its investigation into a ₹27.9 crore bribery case against former Housing Minister Vaithilingam, who served during the AIADMK regime. The Anti-Corruption Bureau ordered a fresh probe into allegations that he received the amount as a bribe from a private construction company. According to officials, the bribery case was registered on February 24, 2024, during the DMK government's tenure following a complaint alleging that Vaithilingam accepted ₹27.9 crore from a private construction firm in return for official favours. The case was subsequently taken up for investigation by the DVAC. Vaithilingam resigned from his MLA post in January and later left the AIADMK to join the DMK. During a recent court hearing on the bribery complaint, it was informed that the case against him had been closed in February. The disclosure led to criticism from various quarters, with questions being raised over whether the closure of the case was linked to Vaithilingam's decision to leave the AIADMK and join the DMK. The criticism prompted renewed public attention to the matter. Following these developments, Anti-Corruption Bureau Director Arun ordered a re-investigation into the allegations. The DVAC has reopened the case and will conduct a fresh inquiry into the bribery complaint and the circumstances surrounding the earlier closure of the investigation. The investigation is in progress, and no further details have been officially disclosed. #DVAC #DMK #CrimeSelvaraj

A concerned railway passenger has shared this video from Yeshwanthpur Railway Station. Severe crowding continues to be a major concern here, and there appears to be little focus on passenger movement and safety management. Authorities must act before a stampede-like situation arises, god forbid. How are these issues being addressed @drmsbc @GMSWR @RailMinIndia @VSOMANNA_BJP VC: IG/bhargaviinreallife

Eight hours after your tweet, banners are still present in your constituency Maduravoyal with your faces on it…. #TVK cadre have no regards for the statement issues by its general secretary N Anand. Will the party take action?
Instructions have been issued to all party cadres to remove the banners immediately. I have been personally following up on this, and most of the banners have already been removed. The remaining ones will also be cleared at the earliest.

With a new government taking over, hopefully there will be some regard for the law. Chennai was earlier famous mainly for unregulated autorickshaw fares. It is now notorious for lack of usable footpaths. Boiling oil cauldrons are allowed on pavements! thehindu.com/news/cities/che…

Both #footpaths outside Bombay High Court dug up. No barricading on one side. Other side fully blocked. No safe passage. No clear diversion. So #pedestrians are pushed onto heavy traffic. That’s how pedestrians become the lowest priority in the system. @walkingproject @mybmc

This is very welcome. Equally, all citizen services should be available within a time frame with online only application. CMDA should be sent to the dry cleaners, tangedco needs some shock therapy. All parks should end entry, photo fees. Green Chennai now! thehindu.com/news/cities/che…
