I haven't time to write very much this morning — a long drive to Scotland beckons.
That being said, I just wanted to reiterate my absolute disgust at Ben Leo and GB news, for going door-to-door, looking for asylum seekers.
It feels as though we're at an inflection point. The handful of scruffy racists turning up to hotels hasn't achieved their aims. There's been no rioting … despite Adam Brooks' best attempts.
This is the next point on the curve. It's an escalation.
What would Leo have done if he'd found some refugees? What was he asking as he rang the doorbells of these homes?
Honestly, the answers to those don't bear thinking about.
These miscreants want civil unrest. They are desperate for it.
Reform and Farage have created a two pronged attack by telling their fan club, that Britain is lawless, whilst simultaneously encouraging them to break the law.
These gangs of lads that are hanging flags from lamp posts, the hooligans congregating outside hotels. GB News journalists trying to doorstep terrified asylum seekers.
They hope that this is the tip of the iceberg. That it will push them into violence. I saw a seriously angry guy interviewed by Politics Joe outside a hotel — he was purporting that the entire country was about to blow.
It isn't.
There is a tiny minority of the population that believe that they are legion — because Farage told them so. They think, like Yaxley-Lemon fanboys, that they hold the ubiquitous belief.
They don't.
People are just going about their business in the real world. Going to work. Going on holiday. Going to the beach.
The country isn't a simmering volcano of hatred, no matter what 𝕏 may algorithmically have you believe.
The people who are on the streets in rage, have been fed a constant stream of online lies, to the point that they can't contain themselves any more. It's called radicalisation.
99% of the population don't spend their entire lives being whipped into a frenzy by Farage. They just want to make it through the week so they can go on holiday next Tuesday. Or are wondering what food to get for dinner at the weekend.
Britain is not lawless. Farage is a liar.
I'm not sure who needs to hear that, but it's true.
Right, see ya in Scotland later. Peace.
