De Niro: I hate to say it, but loving our country is starting to sound like an abused spouse saying they love their abuser. I can’t love a country that starts stupid and inhumane wars, killing thousands of innocents and indirectly causing the deaths and suffering of millions more. I can’t love a country that takes healthcare away from millions of people and uses that money to enrich their pals in the Trump-Epstein class. I can’t love a country that sends out masked militias to shoot citizens in the streets, torture our neighbors, and separate families. I can’t love a country that’s led by a racist, misogynist, xenophobic tyrant. And let me just say it: I can’t love a country that’s led by Donald Trump and his sycophant Congress.

Palestine Action is in good company. British governments and courts criminalised resistance to slavery, the Chartist movement for universal male suffrage, any organising by trade unionists, and the Suffragette movement to win women the vote. None of our rights were given to us by the ruling class. We had to fight for each of them tooth and nail. The British establishment is always on the wrong side of history, because history is with the struggle of ordinary people, not with the selfish interests of the billionaires and war industries. Those earlier struggles were deemed the terrorism of their day by the very same "liberals" – the British establishment and its useful idiots – who today declare any practical action to stop British complicity in Israel's genocide to be terrorism. Note too as proof of bad faith: the British establishment is well advanced in its efforts to declare entirely peaceful protest – marches through the streets – as anti-social, hate crimes and soon enough terrorism too. The ruling class consider attempts to stop a genocide, even holding a banner against the mass murder of children, to be far worse than racist pogroms in Belfast, which try to burn alive people in their homes because of the colour of their skin.

Just a totally delusional post that ignores the key fact that Obama signed a nuclear deal with Iran that Iran was complying with, per the IAEA, that was robust, per Trump’s Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, but that Trump, not Tehran, tore up. Leading to today’s war. Don’t let these people gaslight you.
The war mongers are in Tehran, not Washington. Between 2009 and 2025, the United States spent twelve years under Obama and Biden trying to reach a modus vivendi with the Islamic Republic. Sanctions relief, diplomacy, outreach, engagement. Yet a stable accommodation remained elusive. Why? Veterans of the Obama team and their ideological supporters blame America’s supposed “war mongers.” The claim is absurd. The central argument of the hawks has never been that conflict is desirable. It is that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is a revolutionary jihadi organization that can only be deterred, not seduced. Most Americans would prefer engagement to work. They are not eager for confrontation. They will give diplomacy every chance to succeed. But they are not willing to ignore reality indefinitely. The problem was never those of us warning about the impossibility of a lasting accommodation with Tehran. The problem was Tehran itself. When engagement fails year after year, American leaders return to deterrence not because American hawks are politically powerful, but because their diagnosis is far more accurate. We hawks did not scuttle engagement. Tehran did.

But the other three didn’t - and the one who did wasn’t convicted of intentionally doing so. The terrorism sentencing added on without telling the jury should be seen as an outrage for anyone interested in basic British liberty and fairness.
One of these young people fractured the spine of a female police officer with a sledgehammer A lot of decent people voted Green on 7 May. I suspect many of them had little idea of the views of the leader of that party

Replying to @CharlotteCGill
Proving right-wingers will lie about literally anything in an attempt to smear @TheGreenParty politicians and any 'lefty', is a sensible use of time, as it highlights the moral bankruptcy that's endemic across the right

Turns out Hannah Spencer's blouse definitely isn't Gucci and didn't cost £2,000 Farage, on the other hand, definitely received 5 million and didn't declare it

Here’s Harley Haynes (23), jailed for 30 months for his role in the Southampton Farage riot. Predictably, Haynes is already a serial criminal who has nine convictions for 21 offences including theft, criminal damage and supplying cannabis. Yet another parasite, NOT a patriot.

There are credible allegations made against Donald Trump that he mutilated a child’s nipples while raping her. Allegations so serious, his inner circle had to meet in the Situation Room to discuss them. I mean, how the fuck isn’t this the biggest scandal in the world right now?

Here’s Darren Medhurst (36) another Southampton Farage rioter who has just been jailed for three years, three months. ‘Concerned citizen’ Medhurst has 51 previous convictions for 96 offences, including handling stolen goods, burglary and shoplifting. A parasite, NOT a patriot.

Richard Burgon just exposed the most glaring double standard in British policy "Imagine if this weekend in London there was a Russian real estate event selling Ukrainian land. The government would ban it immediately. Instead, we have an Israeli real estate event openly advertising the illegal sale of land in occupied Palestinian territories. The government recognizes Palestine. Why isn't this banned?"

"Very poor white people” are being convinced that “very poor, hard-working brown or Black people” are responsible for the “problems caused by billionaire white men”, Allison Morris, Crime Correspondent at the Belfast Telegraph, says in the wake of the riots that spread through the capital of Northern Ireland overnight.

Good to see Ant Middlton campaigning for Rob Kenyon in Makerfield. Who better to help push the message that Reform is on the side of local businesses than someone who lives in Dubai and is banned as a company director for dodging £1m in tax?
