The African Union’s Silence on South Africa’s Xenophobia Is Starting to Look Like Endorsement Xenophobia in #SouthAfrica isn’t new. It’s been rotting in plain sight for years. What’s harder to explain is why the African Union keeps acting like it isn’t there. Rogue groups are attacking, harassing, killing other Black Africans — people with papers, people without, legal residents, long-term settlers. The common denominator isn’t documentation. It’s looking like you came from somewhere else. And this isn’t underground. It’s brazen. South African security forces have, at various points, stood aside or done worse. Pretoria knows. The continent knows. Addis Ababa knows. And yet — nothing. No serious condemnation. No suspension threat. No emergency session. Just the usual communiqué language that means absolutely nothing to the man being chased out of his shop in #Johannesburg. Yes, sovereignty matters. Nobody’s disputing that. But there’s a point where deferring to sovereignty becomes a polite way of covering for state failure — or state complicity. When citizens of one AU member state are hunting citizens of others on the basis of where they were born, that is no longer a domestic matter. That is a continental disgrace. The @_AfricanUnion should suspend South Africa. Not as punishment for the whole nation — South Africans themselves have been among the loudest critics of this violence. But as a signal. A line drawn in public. This is where we say enough. The Union has made a habit of grand language — African solidarity, African solutions, African unity. Fine. Then use the mechanisms that exist. Targeted pressure. Public accountability. Suspension where it’s warranted. If those tools only come out for Western interference narratives and never for intra-African atrocities, what exactly is the Union defending? What is happening in South Africa concerns rest of the continent and we just can’t afford to watch from a distance. It is a failure of the continental project itself. And every silence from Addis Ababa makes that failure louder. @BBCAfrica @ali_naka @ecowas_cedeao @AfricanHub_ @AfricanArchives @cecild84 @GovernmentZA @News24_SA @sowore @Julius_S_Malema @officialABAT #SaloneX @CyrilRamaphosa #SouthAfrica @julius_maadabio @AfrikParliament

🚨 An actual example of today’s Great Britain… Two packets of Chinese noodles and a tin of sardines… paid for with a Zable credit card. Something I witnessed: a working-class struggling family's food purchases in London for a day's survival. This is what survival shopping looks like now in today's Great Britain. Scraping by on basics, maxing out credit to get by. High streets are dead, and bills are crushing people. When did it come to this? #UKcostofLiving @reformparty_uk #Britain #Britisheconomy @RestoreBritain @UKLabour @realtoryparty

🚨 Africa, STAND UP! Ambassador @KaoDenero1 — one of the continent’s biggest rappers — just dropped “Jacinta the Witch”, a hard-hitting track calling out xenophobia and division. Say NO to hate! During Apartheid, the whole of #Africa stood shoulder-to-shoulder with South Africa. Brothers & sisters from #SierraLeone, #Ghana, #Nigeria, #Tanzania & across the continent sacrificed, hosted exiles, and fought for freedom. Mandela himself thanked our nations. Now some in SA are turning on their own African family? This behavior shames that legacy. We are ONE Africa! 🖤 @CyrilRamaphosa @SAgov @PresidencyZA @EFFSouthAfrica @cecild84 @Julius_S_Malema @DA_SouthAfrica @OurANC @SABCNews @eNCA @Joe__Bassey @JacintaNgobese @Julius_S_Malema @SAfricaNews @ali_naka #JacintaTheWitch #SayNoToXenophobia #AfricaUnite #OneAfrica #KaoDenero #EndXenophobia

The Butcher of El Fasher Is Free. The African Union Remains Silent. RSF Brigadier General Al-Fatih Abdallah Idris — known as Abu Lulu — boasted about killing over 2,000 people in El Fasher and was filmed executing unarmed civilians during the massacre. He shot a pregnant woman seven times in the abdomen after asking how far along she was. He told survivors: “I was planning to kill 2,000 people today, but I lost count, so that I will start all over again.” A #UN report documented at least 6,000 deaths in the two days surrounding his filmed execution of 15 unarmed captives. The stated motive was not hidden. RSF fighters declared it openly: “We want to eliminate anything black from Darfur.” The #RSF briefly arrested him for optics after the videos went viral. Then he returned to the battlefield in Kordofan in March 2026. Amnesty International called it alarming. The RSF instructed its officers to remain silent about his return. The #EU sanctioned him. The #US sanctioned him. The UN Security Council sanctioned him in February 2026. The #AfricanUnion has issued no arrest warrant. No declaration. No demand for his apprehension. This is a man who filmed himself committing genocide against black Africans on African soil, backed by #UAE money, operating inside an Arab supremacist militia that has vowed to exterminate blackness from Darfur, and the continental body that exists to protect African people cannot bring itself to declare him wanted. Shame on the @_AfricanUnion and all African organisations and governments that have kept silent so far at this travesty. @BBCAfrica @antonioguterres @ecowas_cedeao @ReutersAfrica @WorldBankAfrica @AfricanArchives @AfricaSec01 @AIT_Online @TruthmediaSL @LibertyOnlineTV @cecild84 #SaloneX

The tragic murder of Henry Nowak has opened a very contentious topic of multiculturalism in Britain. If a #Sikh man can carry a deadly 21cm weapon in public as part of his religious attire (the kirpan), while the same act by a white British man is treated as straightforward criminal knife crime, this double standard puts the rights and safety of indigenous White British people and others at risk. In his sentencing remarks, Judge William Mousley KC directly addressed this: he noted that Digwa was carrying a “large Sikh dagger” and had abused “the privilege extended to Sikhs to have a knife in a public place for religious reasons,” disgracing and humiliating the community while putting others at risk of repercussions. This case calls for a proper British secular society — one that subjects every man, regardless of background, to a single legal code rooted in the British constitution and tradition of equal justice. This land must no longer be made more convenient for strangers than for its indigenous people. As a man of African origin, I believe the truth is virtue and goodwill for humanity. Britain’s way of life, fair play, one rule for all, and protection of the native population must take priority over multiculturalism that creates unequal privileges and endangers social cohesion. @reformparty_uk @ZiaYusufUK @Nigel_Farage @BBCNews @SkyNews @RestoreBritain @RupertLowe10 #HenryNowak

Dutch Threat to Block EU Aid to Sierra Leone Risks Undermining Development and Cooperation In the spirit of mutual respect and international cooperation, we urge all parties to address the case of Jos Leijdekkers (#BolleJos) through dialogue, in accordance with due process and in full respect of Sierra Leone’s sovereignty and international law. No extradition treaty exists between the Netherlands and Sierra Leone, making cooperation voluntary. While justice for serious crimes is essential, linking development aid (€352M in EU support 2021-2027) to this issue risks affecting vulnerable populations. The Netherlands has itself upheld legal principles in the past — for instance, when Dutch courts declined to extradite a Polish drug-trafficking suspect in 2021 over fair-trial and rule-of-law concerns. We call for patience, constructive engagement, and respect for human rights and due process. @DutchGov @MinBZ @DavidvanWeel @SierraLeoneGov @PresidentBio @DutchPolice @GleanerSierraLe @EU_Commission @JosepBorrellF @UNHumanRights @LibertyOnlineTV @TruthmediaSL @MoiceComm @sierraeyesalone @DutchNewsNL #InternationalLaw #Sovereignty #JusticeWithoutPressure #SaloneX

Senegal is giving #Africa a masterclass in constitutional democracy. Their political stalemate is tense — but it’s playing out exactly as the law demands. Institutions are holding. The Constitution is being respected. Sierra Leone’s politicians, are you watching? This is what putting the law above yourself looks like. 👀 #Senegal #SierraLeone #Democracy #Africa #Constitution @MoiceComm @LibertyOnlineTV @TruthmediaSL @SonkoOfficiel @APCofficial001 @GleanerSierraLe @CGGSierraLeone #SaloneX @PR_Diomaye @allafrica @JudiciaryofSL @PoliceLeone

The old militant Pan-African agitation will not emancipate Africa. Had China expelled Westerners from Beijing, technology transfer would have been far slower. Africa needs a modern Neo-Pan-African agenda focused on pragmatic collaboration, not outdated confrontation. #SaloneX

The fact that Sierra Leonean authorities have made no arrests and launched no credible investigation into the record cocaine bust linked to a locally registered company and departing from Freetown strongly indicates high-level protection for the drug trade. When a nation’s ports, companies, and institutions repeatedly facilitate massive transnational shipments with impunity, it becomes difficult to avoid the conclusion that elements within the government are not just negligent but actively complicit. @DEA @StateDept @FBI @INTERPOL_HQ @UNODC @Europol @BBC @PoliceLeone @Europol @Reuters @AP @AFP @AlJazeera @SkyNews @guardian @GI_TOC @INTERPOL_HQ @ECOWAS @DutchPolice @JudiciaryofSL @GuardiaCivil #SaloneX @MoiceComm @StateDept @StateINL @TruthmediaSL

ECOWAS Hypocrisy in Sierra Leone: Talking Human Rights While Jailing Critics On 15 May 2026, ECOWAS proudly announced strengthened partnerships in Freetown on human rights, migration, peacebuilding, and regional integration. Yet, just weeks earlier, Sierra Leonean opposition activist, entertainer, Zainab Sheriff was sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison for “incitement” and “threatening language” — simply for criticising President Bio and alleged election rigging at a political rally. This is part of a broader clampdown on political opponents and dissent in Sierra Leone, yet the ECOWAS is silent. ECOWAS is not part of the solution — it is part of the problem. While it holds meetings and issues press releases, it continues to shield authoritarian regimes and fails to protect citizens’ rights across West Africa. Time to disband ECOWAS and create a new, fit-for-purpose regional body that actually defends democracy, human rights, and the rule of law — instead of enabling their erosion. The people of #SierraLeone and the region deserve better. @ecowascourt @freedomhouse @court_afchpr #SaloneX @LeoneIssues @LibertyOnlineTV @TruthmediaSL @court_afchpr @achpr_cadhp @allafrica @TheAlkambaTimes @ecowas_cedeao @BIDC_EBID @AUC31 @APCofficial001

🚨 CARTEL BROTHER BUSTED AGAIN: Drug Kingpin’s Sibling Nabbed in Istanbul — While “Bolle Jos” Remains Protected in Sierra Leone Turkish intelligence (MİT) and Istanbul Narcotics Police have struck again. Wilhelmus Adrianus Leijdekkers (also known as Harry, 51), a key figure in one of Europe’s most ruthless Dutch cocaine networks, was arrested on Sunday, 17 May 2026 (or Saturday 16th per some reports) in a targeted operation in Istanbul’s Pendik district. He is wanted via Interpol Red Notice for large-scale cocaine trafficking, money laundering, and handling the financial operations of his notorious younger brother. This marks the third time Wilhelmus has been detained in #Turkey. He was previously arrested in the big 2023 crackdown on the Leijdekkers network, released controversially by a Turkish court in 2024 despite extradition requests, and fled only to be caught again now. Wilhelmus is the older brother and key associate of Joseph Johannes Leijdekkers, better known as “Bolle Jos” (Chubby Jos / Bello Jos). Bolle Jos, one of Europe’s most wanted drug lords, has been sentenced in absentia to 24 years in the Netherlands (plus additional sentences in Belgium) for importing multiple tonnes of cocaine, ordering violence, and running a vast empire. He is currently believed to be living openly in Sierra Leone, where he enjoys high-level protection. Reports link him to local elites, including rumored ties to the president’s family, and he has been spotted at official events. Sierra Leone has no extradition treaty with the Netherlands, making him effectively untouchable. Dutch authorities continue to pursue massive asset seizures (tens to hundreds of millions of euros) from the family’s drug profits. With one brother now back in Turkish custody and extradition to the Netherlands likely, the Leijdekkers cartel has taken another hit — but the boss remains free in his African safe haven, continuing to orchestrate shipments (including links to recent record multi-tonne busts). Stay tuned — extradition proceedings are expected to move quickly.
