Quick edit showing some of the intense moments today while documenting 8 tornadoes in northern Illinois into Indiana. Massive shoutout to @skydrama for nailing the forecast in the warm sector. Hands down the craziest tornado outbreak I've ever documented.

I’ve lived in New York for years and I’ve never seen this before. ⚡️
The sky was completely dark, but the same spot kept flashing over and over again with no thunder that I could hear.
My best guess is distant lightning from a storm far enough away that the thunder isn’t reaching the city, but I’ve honestly never watched it happen like this before.
Does anyone know if that’s what we’re looking at, or is there another explanation? 👀
