Tom Brady: "To be successful at anything, you don’t have to be special. You just have to be what most people aren’t: consistent, determined and willing to work for it. No shortcuts."

Some “Old School” Early days of Strength & Conditioning 🏆🏆🏆 From Institute of Iron-In the early days of strength and conditioning.Strength training wasn't common.unlike today when strength coaches are everywhere and most see the benefits of strength and conditioning for athletes. Pioneers such as Alvin Roy showed the way with his training of the 1963 Chargers Alvin Roy was a health club owner in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who helped revolutionize sports performance during the 1950s and 1960s by challenging the idea of muscle-binding and convincing high school, college, and professional football coaches to add weight training to their programs. Roy's spread of the weight training gospel culminated in 1963 when he became the NFL's first strength coach. In 1962, the San Diego Chargers trudged to a 4-10 record as coach Sid Gillman watched broken bodies and losses pile up. In 1963, he was ready to try things no one had ever done. Gillman found Rough Acres, a failed dude ranch 70 miles east of San Diego. Rough Acres was where he introduced the game's first strength coach, its first weightlifting program  Gillman sent letters to his players, explaining that they would be lifting weights and turning the conventional wisdom of decades on its head at Rough Acres. On the first day of camp, he introduced a 5-foot-6 Louisiana man named Alvin Roy, the mastermind of their weight program. "[Gillman] said, 'This man is what every team will eventually have: a strength coach, ESPN , USA STRENGTH COACH HALL OF FAME Inspired by Scott Tusic @zevenesh

Constant, Consistent pursuit of pushing the envelope to make sure Bama stays the standard. It’s not cute looking exercises. It’s how you quantify, interpret, and apply….
Another busy work day in T Town. Part of the process is constantly working on the efficiency to absorb eccentric force. 20 kilo of eccentric load here on the @1080motion Quantum Syncro.

I could walk into our weight room any day of the week and immediately sense the mindset of our team in wanting to achieve great things. That was the barometer. Tom Osborne
