This is almost my only contribution to the well planned Green media operation overnight 4/5 July. I really don't know how we can get a fair share of media attention. We are radical, but with commonsense policies. Sadly it seems that hateful, racist, rants are more interesting?
Jenny Jones, "4 Green MPs is going to be amazing when you consider what Caroline Lucas did on her own" @GreenJennyJones "The cost of living crisis is an inequality crisis which Labour has not talked about and we'll take it on" "The Climate Crisis is coming towards us like a Tsunami and it's not being talked about" "Now that we have 4 MPs, perhaps we could be registered on your results board and taken out of 'other'"

This was a classy speech by Sunak. As @Freedland says, we can no longer take for granted that leaders accept the results of elections, recognise their opponents as public servants & facilitate a peaceful transition of power. A last act of democratic service - & one that matters.
It would once have been routine for a defeated prime minister to wish his successor luck - to call him “a decent, public-spirited man who I respect”, as Sunak just described Starmer. But after Trump and 2020, you no longer take such a peaceful transition for granted.

Last week, I joined the #SafeHomesNow campaign launch led by @Ageing_Better in Parliament. We should all feel proud, safe and secure at home. Yet too many people are living in homes that damage their health. We need a national plan to fix unsafe homes and improve lives!

Stride said a “whole plethora of things”, such as talking therapies, social care packages and respite care, could be used as alternatives to benefit payments. That whole plethora of things that don't exist, don't work or don't accept people. Performative cruelty.
