For years, anglers across the Southeast have fought to protect access to our waters while left-wing environmental groups pushed policies that threatened it, from the Biden Administration’s proposed 10-knot vessel speed rule to sweeping bottom fishing closures.
South Carolina has stood in their way.
Now, those same activist organizations have filed suit to stop the Trump Administration and NOAA from allowing South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia (
@ChrisCarr_Ga), and Florida (
@AGJamesUthmeier) to move forward with the South Atlantic Exempted Fishing Permits (EFPs) for red snapper fishing.
This is no longer just about conservation. It’s about control.
South Carolina anglers should not have their livelihoods, access, and traditions dictated by liberal environmental activists pushing flawed federal policies onto Southeastern states.
We believe state-led science and management produce better outcomes, and South Carolina can gather accurate, real-world data through the EFP process.
We’re going to keep fighting to keep South Carolina anglers on the water.
