That’s not what I’m saying here. It takes longer because the state sends mail in ballots to everyone, allows them to be postmarked on the day of the election, allows 7 days for them to be returned and then 10 days to “cure” signature verification issues. That’s a policy choice. The state could choose not to allow all of that & the count would go faster. I’m not endorsing or opposing the policy…just explaining how it works.

New: The general election for California governor could very well be between the two Republicans, predicts USC professor Christian Grose. “The probability is probably about 1 in 5, I think, possibly higher now,” said Grose, who's at the center of the canceled debate drama.

There were 22 names on the ballot for the last California gubernatorial race in 2022. They were never all together on a stage.
