Sheriff Darren Weekly and Undersheriff Jason Kennedy, along with members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard, were honored to participate in the Flag Sojourn 250 alongside fellow members of the County Sheriffs of Colorado.
The Flag Sojourn 250 commemorates the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States of America. This historic American flag is traveling across all 50 states, serving as a powerful symbol of our nation’s founding principles, the sacrifices made to defend them, and the shared responsibility to uphold the Constitution.
For those who have sworn an oath to protect our communities and defend the rule of law, standing with this flag is a meaningful reminder of the purpose behind our service. We are proud to stand with Colorado’s sheriffs in honoring our nation’s history and the freedoms that define America. The flag’s journey will conclude in Washington, D.C., on July 4, 2026, as part of the national celebration marking 250 years since America’s founding.
