Huntercombe (1901) – Willie Park Jr.’s inland experiment that changed golf design forever. With clever sandless “Park’s pots” instead of traditional bunkers, it proved great golf isn’t only found by the sea. A living lesson in strategy and creativity. #GolfHistory
Up a massive 30 places in the National Club Golfer top 100 list. Genuine recognition for this Willie Park Jnr links.
Feels like another move in the right direction for a course that is so much fun to play. 124 years in the making.
Right now the greens at @ClubHuntercombe are the best they have ever been. I cant tell you what a pleasure it is to play out there. Add a little autumn sunshine and you have near perfect conditions for a flash around the 'combe.
Good luck to all today playing on our Company Golf Day. We hope they enjoy the course as much as the famous author, Ian Fleming, who would complete all 18 holes in under two hours!
Very good list IMHO - but then I would say that as it is extremely similar to 2022 @GolfWorld1 GB&I 100. The top 40 especially! Enjoy Fraserburgh and Huntercombe inclusions lower down a lot.
I’m sure Peter Snow, I mean @ukgolfguy, will be along with some analysis shortly.
Rightly so. Is in my personal Top 100 (and I’ve played them all in this list and Golf World’s). Some of the best green complexes in GB&I! Congratulations on Huntercombe’s inclusion to the club and @LOBBandPARTNERS
Latest pod 🎧@pitchmarks joins us to talk about his Eclectic 18 - some brilliant stuff from the British Isles and a ringing endorsement for why there is so much great golf in England! 👇

The Dogs of Huntercombe calendar (and no, they are not all black labs!) is on sale at all good retailers.......well, the pro shop @ClubHuntercombe and we can post them out - all proceeds go to the @canine_partners - perfect for any kitchen wall.
Just wonderful to see @LOBBandPARTNERS@ClubHuntercombe extending the back of the 3rd green creating more pinable area on this treacherous Willie Park JNR green. Generating genuine excitement in hitting a golf ball since 1901 - Huntercombe that is...not Tim!
