As some know, I'm originally a Longmonster since age 7, served 20 years in the US Navy then 4 years of college while legally a Longmont resident till 2016, then returned to Longmont in 2019. This evil crap has been happening forever, and it's certainly happening now and only getting worse. The police can't be everywhere. Citizens arrests are part of legal American life and Alex Rosen did just that. To discount that on "rules of evidence" or "it won't legally hold up in court" is horseshit. I've never heard of Alex Rosen and the Houston based Predator Poachers till now. In this case, the Boulder County DA MUST look at the prior track record of Alex Rosen with conviction rates with other cases in other jurisdictions. If what Alex Rosen says is true that there was overwhelming probable cause, and the Longmont PD did not arrest William McRoberts? There needs to be a serious look as to what constitutes probable cause and what the Colorado legal system considers a prosecutable case. In the interview with Ryan Schuiling, Michael Dougherty says McRoberts had nothing on his phone while Alex Rosen says McRoberts did. Put aside the race for Attorney General. Who is telling the truth here? What are the facts about McRoberts, Rosen, and DA Dougherty aside from these videos and this radio interview. I do sorta kinda agree that these civilian pedo sting groups should have a solid plan ahead of time and a good relationship with local law enforcement because until the "rules of evidence" and the legal system makes changes, sting operations and arrests mean nothing if they cannot get convicted by weak District Attorneys in any weak Colorado courtroom. Those changes fall on all branches of the Colorado State government. Michael Dougherty as an AG candidate, or if elected as AG with the most criminal trial experience of the likely Democrat Party winner has a platform and line to the Legislature, Governor, and the Judical System for tougher legal and administrative reforms, which is dubious considering the nature of the Progressive Democrat Party of Colorado. In the meantime, McRoberts is free on the streets until charges are filed and his arrest is made. How long will that take Mr. Dougherty? Every other municipality in Colorado......even the small towns like Erie, Lafayette, and Louisville maintain X accounts with up to date information. If they can do it, Longmont can do it too. Longmont is not special in that regard. Besides, Facebook is a behemoth and burdensome to use, is very controlling, is known to censor, and is the go to for the leftists versus X. Longmont has become a leftist town as evidenced by the Mayor and city council makeup.
