It's "vote blue no matter who" when Platner is on the ballot, but most of the DSA left never showed up for Hillary, Kamala, or for people like Fetterman.
I have been a lifelong Democrat. I am remaining a Democrat because I refuse to surrender our party to bigots who hate America. Having said that, we seem to have an increasing number of bigots who hate America in our party.

Happy birthday to Louis Andriessen (1939–2021), the greatest Dutch composer since Sweelinck! In this podcast we revisit his piece Workers Union, a great landmark of European minimalism whose notation specifies rhythm and contour but not exact pitch.

I asked a local councillor if the russian refinery here in Ireland should be sanctioned.
He said yes, if it was supplying Israel.
But Russia? No.
This is Ireland’s sanctions hypocrisy in 90 seconds.

I obviously don't share Jeff's ultimate analysis of this race but I do think it would behoove Dems, when choosing candidates, to realize progressive Christian moralism is just as annoying as conservative Christian moralism to people who don't share the politics being moralized.
Feels like a good time to repost a relevant piece. If you think Ken Paxton's odiousness makes James Talarico any better as a choice, then you don't understand why - as a Christian - I consider Talarico to be morally worse: a false counselor hiding behind claimed Christian virtue to lie lead his flock astray.
I *hate* him in ways I will never quite loathe the familiar corruption of Paxton. Do not pretend to me that he is a hero - he is malevolence in a pleasing disguise. nationalreview.com/2026/03/j…
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Sonny Rollins. The Saxophone Colossus died this afternoon at his home in Woodstock, NY at the age of 95. 1/2 conta.cc/4wFIDrM

Unpopular take: Maybe Israel/Gaza wasn't much of a factor for Harris in 2024. Slotkin, Gallego, Rosen, Baldwin, Stein all won in swing states that Harris lost holding positions on Israel similar to the WH. Shapiro has sky high approval in PA. #DNCAutopsy
