🌍💧 This morning, the @D2E_Project team kicked off their Climate into Water and Land Information in Drylands (#CUWALID) model training at #ICPAC. The model—a key component of the Project—integrates #anticipatoryaction, where risk levels are considered to develop different humanitarian responses. It uses an impact-based seasonal forecast to track water balance in drylands by combining climate simulation, hydrological modeling, and user engagement. Over the next two weeks, #ICPAC staff and stakeholders from #Ethiopia, #Kenya, and #Somalia will collaborate on hydrology and climate modeling. #ClimateActionNow#Down2Earth
The #EGU24 PICO session on Human Water Feedbacks was a big success! Thanks to all the speakers and the interested audience. @IleenStreefkerk presented her work on drought adaptation in East Africa and gathered a nice crowd. @VU_IVM@D2E_Project
This week @cardiffuni and @BristolUni and @icpac_igad are organising a hydrological modelling #CUWALID training under @D2E_Project. The training aims at building the capacity of key ICPAC's staff on the application of CUWALID model, and is taking place at University of Bristol,UK.
