Had a phone call with Pres. Salva kiir on the situation leading to the arrest and detention of 1st vice Pres. Riak Machar in South Sudan. After consultations with Pres. Museveni and PM Abiy, I'm sending a special envoy to South sudan to engage, try deescalate, and brief us back.

In 2024, our rapid response initiatives under the Resilience Peace and Stability programme in Kerio Valley established inter-county and inter-communal peace committees. These committees continue to play a crucial role in addressing conflicts induced by climate change in the region. To enhance the coordination of these structures, we organized a meeting in Chesegon Market, along the border between West Pokot and Elgeyo Marakwet. This meeting which was supported by @denmarkinkenya through @tendasasa brought together committee members from @Baringo_county, @ElgeyoMarakwetC, and @WPCGovernment. @InteriorKE @rotichwisley @SimonKachapinK @BenjaminCCheboi
