I’m going to unpack some of this. 1. The premise that women are unknowingly carting around a Y (with SRY) is massively over exaggerated. The risk of Surprise SRY is minimal. 2. The risk of Surprise SRY is, however, non-zero. But in reproductively healthy women who have had periods and, more definitively, had kids is as near to zero as one can map in science. 3. That is, if you are a person who got a period before 16yo (ish), who has ever been pregnant or who has had the kind of screens that are offered to women (like cervical screening) without any drama, I’d bet my house you don’t have SRY. 4. If you have proof you have popped eggs and/or seen your ovaries, you would be almost singular (literally in the scientific record, the second case to my knowledge) if you also have SRY, functional or otherwise. If that’s me, with my entirely healthy reproductive system and physiology, I’m writing myself into a paper. 5. If you are born appearing female but actually carting around a Y with an SRY, it will almost always make it’s presence felt during puberty. You won’t menstruate, your GP might then discover unusual anatomy etc. Nobody in the U.K. should be getting Surprise SRY. 6. Ironically, Mums to boys are the most likely confounder (via fetal microchimerism). It should not need to be said that picking up some cells from the baby boy you’ve carried in your belly doesn’t change your sex. The carrying of the baby boy, almost certainly from your own egg, refutes that. 🙄 7. If, despite being an apparently healthy woman, you get a Surprise SRY, that means you’re an interesting woman, not a man. It also means that you won’t be excluded from female sport. Because whatever your genetics, sport is divided on bodies. 8. The lay person’s fascination with genetics and the cultural position that DSDs are “just normal variation” has led a fair amount of even normally-sensible people down a dumb rabbit hole. They are medical conditions that are really rare. 1/20k is a binned frequency that we use in genetics to describe things that are really rare. It’s not a measured number, it’s almost qualitative.

I reckon you should have every single TERF take this test themselves. Be wonderful to see how many of them have a Y chromosome they've known nothing about their whole lives.

As the UK emerges from its long decade of gender induced madness, I think it’s worth remembering that the man who wrote this now works for the government. Matt Thompson is now employed by @GalopUK, the government funded LGBTQ charity that defines “asking a trans person upsetting questions” as a hate crime. Mr. Thompson’s position is listed as “Transphobic Hate Crime Advocate.” In a country where ordinary people struggle to pay the bills, and housing is all but unaffordable, perhaps it is not in taxpayers’ best interests for their government to be shelling out £4.5 million yearly to keep Galop going (including £33,291/year to compensate Mr. Thompson for his “work”), given they have had to resort to listing “upsetting questions” as a hate crime in order to justify their continued existence. 4w.pub/non-binary-student-wh…

One huge mistake frequently made on the left is that people with whom they disagree must follow right wing media (whoever they are). You’ll note I have a doctorate because I am inherently intellectually curious. Different views are valid in our democracy and can be supported.

Why does the safety of incarcerated women not matter? Housing males in women prisons, particularly predators, perpetrators of femicide and violence against women goes against all common sense, the principles of dignity, safety and equality of women. Women i prison are entilef to those rights too! It has gone on for too long and must stop immediately!
Serial killer Harvey Marcelin has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering and dismembering a woman he met in a NYC women’s shelter. This is the third separate time that Marcelin has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a woman. He was first convicted of murder in 1963, then paroled in 1984, only to be arrested for a second femicide in 1986. He was paroled a second time, to a women’s shelter, in 2019, even though he told a parole officer upon his release that he had “a problem with women.” For the last four years, Marcelin has been housed in a women’s facility, but has recently been moved to hospital accommodations, probably as a result of age and ill health. This case should serve as a reminder that even ill, very elderly men can be dangerous to women, and that women need separate housing in shelters and other facilities. reduxx.info/transgender-seri…

Completely untrue. Trans peoples rights have not been reduced and Akua certainly didn’t argue that they should be. Trans identifying men have never had the right to enter single sex spaces designated for women.

No one wants to harm Parkrun @parkrunUK it is a fabulous event. I’m spent my life trying to get people more active. That will carry on. My point is a simply one of fairness & equality. 28 women’s records are held by men, over 200 1st places in the women’s category have gone to men. More every weekend. It’s demoralising for those women wanting those places & records. This only goes one way. Women just want their own course records & places based on the reality of biological sex, which matters in physical activity. There are ways that extra categories can be added. So records & places remain, which is what the vast majority want to happen, which proves there is a competitive element to Parkrun as it stands. Hence a 30k petition to bring them back. Everyone runs together dresses as makes them happy. Non of that changes but simply enable a fair female category for females please?

"Surrogacy King" Barrie Drewitt-Barlow has been arrested on charges of rape and human trafficking
"The egg donor, we found on a catwalk... Nobody wants an ugly kid. Sometimes we get them, but we don't always want them." This is surrogacy: the complete commodification of women and children, of life itself.

The grand promises of cheaper food, global trade boom, £350m a week for the NHS, restored sovereignty have all collapsed into higher costs, weaker growth, and lost opportunities. Ten years on, public opinion has shifted decisively. A majority now regrets Brexit and wants to rejoin. The reckoning is here.

🚩 Lord Heseltine sounds the air raid siren on Brexit crime: Brexit was a “heinous crime” against the British people, led by Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage and their allies. “Never have so few done so much damage to so many.” The promises have turned to dust. A majority now wants to rejoin. The guilty men should hang their heads in shame.
🚨 Michael Heseltine, “We must create a kind of United States of Europe. ⏰ This is an important historical reminder, Churchill’s vision after WW2 was that European nations had to find ways to bind themselves together so that nationalism, rivalry and the cycles of war that devastated the continent would not return. Heseltine is right, Brexit is a reversal of that post-war understanding: a retreat from collective European strength at a moment when the world is once again becoming more dangerous. “Project Fear has become Project Here.” The warnings about trade friction, reduced investment, barriers with our largest market and economic costs were dismissed as “scaremongering”, but those concerns are now reality pulling Britain into decline. On political accountability, Heseltine asks: where are the people who promised the benefits of Brexit now celebrating its success? If the promises had been fulfilled: lower migration, stronger growth, less bureaucracy, a more powerful Britain, one might expect the architects of the project to be loudly claiming victory. His final point: democracy is not a single frozen moment in 2016. The generations who will live longest with the consequences have the same democratic right to assess the outcome and decide their future direction. Whatever one’s view of Brexit, how can a medium-sized European country maintain prosperity, influence and security in a world increasingly shaped by continental-sized powers and geopolitical competition.

The fact that this man was willing to post this publicly, with his full name attached, says a lot about how untouchable this community thinks they are. These men think they can go around making threats like these, and talking about the thrills they get from “breastfeeding” helpless infants, and harassing women in public restrooms, and no one will do anything about it, because after all, we’re just women. That is a mistake. If they’d played it cool, or been willing to make even the tiniest of compromises, they almost certainly would have won. All they had to do was be nice about it, show a little understanding for women, and a little bit of respect when using our spaces, and society would have continued to treat them as sacred beings who must be pandered to and protected in every way possible. They didn’t do that. Instead, they showed themselves to be depraved, deviant, dangerous predators. They graphically threaten women with rape, torture, and death; carry signs threatening decapitation; physically assaulted women who told them “no”; openly masturbated in the public areas of women’s restrooms; oh, and let’s not forget that they’ve sucked hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children into their toxic death cult to be mutilated and sterilized. Unsurprisingly, most people have had enough of it — and of them. Now the tide has turned. No one cares if they get offended anymore. The backlash is coming, and it’s going to be ugly. These people have spent the last decade or so being pandered to in every possible way, and they’re not taking “no” very well. The temper tantrums are going to be epic. So is the comeuppance.

So: 1) Women who want female-only shelters are bigots- until they’re human shields; 2) GNC men can’t possibly use the men’s room- but GNC men shouldn’t be bullied out of the men’s room; 3) Unfeminine women aren't really women but trans men- until they’re human shields; & 4) Including all men in the men’s room is the same as racial segregation. Yep, as coherent & consistent as ever.

Blimey, *endometriosis Steve* is getting his sisters knickers in a right twist over the EHRC guidance. Current hypotheticals incl: 1. Homeless women will have to go into mixed sex hostels because it will be impossible to ascertain their sex. 2. An autistic man with a condition causing absent puberty may not appear male. 3. A woman accessing a DV refuge, who has been told she’s ugly and worthless, will be required to confirm she’s 100% female. 4. The police are now in a time of *black bathrooms and water fountains* Makes you wonder how we functioned at all before Stonewall decided to nuke civil society at the behest of transvestites.

Pregnancy is a protected characteristic. Women have specific rights based on this. Women can exclude men from specific services such as rape crisis centres. Sex is real and it matters. It’s no myth.
The entire GC/TERF movement is premised on the myth that women can have 'sex based rights' But that's not how our legal systems actually work. It goes both ways; any type of 'biological sex based rights' for women would apply equally to men.

None of us has the right to compel another person’s speech or belief. You’re free to think and speak as you like. So am I. Men are free to try and look female, or act according to their male idea of what a woman is. Women are free to disagree that those men have become women.

Emma Hilton is almost single-handedly destroying every argument trans activists have used to claim that males have to be in female sports- "genital checks are needed, it's too expensive and too inaccessible to test athlete's sex". She has developed a quick, easy and cheap test with modest means and she is almost there . Please consider donating. You would quite literally be making history.
Hello all. A quick update from me. My sex screen assay is progressing well. I promised rapid: I can detect SRY from a cheek swab in about 30 minutes. I am currently testing whether I can drop it to 10 minutes without compromising reliability. I promised cheap: The current cost per assay is about £2. I am currently testing whether I can drop this to below the pound line, and it’s very promising. I promised accessible: The assay could be run by any grassroots sports coach, school nurse, and my Mum. I promised on-site: This is where my lab efforts are currently focussed. I’ve always held “from the UK to Uganda” as a principle, and ensuring easy deployment is crucial. I’m currently learning a lot of materials science… The other main push is setting up various blinded, larger-scale tests. This will require lots of form filling. If anyone wants to help me hit my final budget target, my crowdfunder is here.

You lost the right to speak for victims like me when you actively signed an EDM to remove me recently clarified human rights to dignity and privacy from the opposite sex when vulnerable. I withdrew from society 5 years ago now due to forced male inclusion in our women's rape trauma group. Stop using women as a useful virtue signalling tool over opposition when you have actively done worse.
