The requirements to be... Certificate in Geriatric Medicine Knowledge-Based Assessment Lead includes being a PA for 7 years.
I predict this is a degree anyone can do and be equated to specialist training in near future too.
@GeriSoc - are you saying a Consultant of 3 years experience and a PA of 7 years experience are at par?

34p per patient per day.
30 million appointments every month.
Still the only part of the NHS not routinely running a deficit.
Your government talks about “shifting care into the community” while starving the very service expected to deliver it.

Why protecting patient data is the first thing that GPs are doing as part of collective action? Seems a little odd?
Until you realised that the Government is planning to take away the data controller role from GP practices
The same Government signing contracts with Palantir
GPs in England are launching collective action TODAY, after our GP committee voted that Government proposals don’t go far enough.
We’re taking action on data sharing agreements, because policy proposals have not gone far enough to convince GPs that the profession will be protected.

I must say...I am yet to understand what is the difference between a 'Neighbourhood Health Centre' or the need to have it.
Rather than resource GP surgery adequately and do things that way.
Unless this is just simply about 'We just dislike GPs' and want anyone else to lead it.

Resident doctors told us that advanced practitioners were used on their rotas.
Our data shows this is the case, appearing to be in breach of NHS guidelines in England. NHSE says APs “should not replace the roles of doctors”, yet here we are.

The BMA says a safe working day for a GP is 25 patient contacts. Above that, diagnostic error rates rise, adverse events rise, burnout accelerates. It is a safety number, not a productivity number.

Solution to this could be whenever a patient's referral gets rejected, write to hospital asking for name and GMC number of consultant that rejected it. Shift burden back into secondary care > becomes unworkable > drive reform back the other way.

We absolutely must know the name and position of the person rejecting the referral. This does not always happen even in the current A&G system. GPs are community equivalents of hospital consultants and anything less than a consultant rejecting a referral would be a travesty.
