Excellent @mara_yamauchi thread from beginning to end. 'Inclusive' means giving women a fair category, not giving men everything they want all the bloody time.
My thoughts on @parkrun founder Paul Sinton-Hewitt’s comments in this interview.👇 1. It’s good that he is openly admitting what he previously called “the gender thing” is a problem. But parkrun has had years to fix it. I met the previous CEO in June 2023. Since then,…

Can’t reply to Natalie. But she makes the point that it is a mixed SEX event. So categorisation should be on that basis, or categories should be done away with. With TRAs the traffic is always one-way. #SaveWomensSports
Its a mixed sex fun event. What box participants tick on signup cant be policed. EA2010 does not even cover this as not single sex, mums with toddlers enter with grandpas and dog walkers. You race against yourself for a personal bests. Deal with it or go enter a professional race

Nobody need care about ANY of this grifting, out of touch, self certifying bunch of grifters. Their time is done. They have enough stolen wealth to keep them well provided for. Time to rid society of them and their ilk.

She’s writing about having had half a breast removed due to cancer, & THIS is your take?? You are truly a disgustingly sick individual, & that is an extremely low bar here…
It must be so tiring being a transphobe who gets angry at everything that isn’t tailored to their bigotry.

Some people seem awfully tetchy about a woman who has had breast cancer talking about the glorification of mastectomy for non-medical reasons. To the point of calling a breast cancer survivor a “malignant narcissist” who is “weaponising her cancer experience” and using it as a “weapon to attack trans people”. Anyone would think they wanted to distract attention from the uncomfortable questions at the heart of this debate: Why are healthy breasts increasingly being viewed as a problem to be removed, rather than part of a female body that women and girls should be helped to feel comfortable in? And why would removing healthy body parts - for no good medical reason - ever be something worthy of celebration?

.@parkrun has alienated many Started running at 50, realising I was reasonably good for my age. Sometimes I come 1st in my category. Gender identity categories mean mine and other women's achievments can be obscured, sometimes significantly. Men's aren't #makeparkrunfairforall
Same old, same old, from @parkrunUK founder Paul Sinton-Hewitt interviewed on the occasion of the millionth parkrun: “My hope and wish is that as we navigate this, we don’t do ourselves any damage, that we protect what is really, really important to us, which is inclusivity, that we don’t alienate any part of the community.” ‘Don’t alienate any part of the community’… interesting choice of words given that parkrun has intentionally devised gender categories that allow males to self-identify into the female category and thereby erased the female category. That’s alienation of women right there, Paul. And is now a good time to mention that the Aberystwyth women’s parkrun record is still held by a man who tried to murder a UK Athletics official and is now doing time in a women’s prison?

Asked about challenges that parkrun faces, founder Paul Sinton-Hewitt said ‘as we know, the most obvious challenge is this whole gender, sex debate. We will get through that.’ You’ll ‘get through it’ by obeying the law.
The female category exists to promote participation and inclusion @parkrun. This "challenge" was entirely avoidable. Women's concerns were dismissed while self-ID was allowed to undermine the very purpose of a female category. 🧐 #SaveWomensSports edp24.co.uk/news/national/26…

Dear Lush (cc Chelmsford City Council), As a woman who had half a breast removed last year due to cancer, I am writing to raise my concerns about your “Proud of My Stripes” window display. I am also, on behalf of other women who have experienced breast cancer, respectfully requesting its removal. Because mastectomies are not a fashion statement, an identity marker or something to be celebrated. They are something women undergo because they are ill, because they are frightened, because they are trying to stay alive. Around 59,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year. Many will undergo surgery - a mastectomy, lumpectomy or other procedure. Others choose preventive mastectomies because they carry a high-risk BRCA gene mutation. If a woman chooses to have her breasts removed to affirm a gender identity, that is her personal choice. I honestly don’t know the number of women who have elective mastectomies for this reason. What I do know is that it is a tiny number compared with those for whom breast surgery is medically necessary and not something to be celebrated. I think I speak for many women who have experienced breast cancer - and for their families - when I say this: Breast removal surgery is not something I regard as cute, playful or empowering. Nor is it something I believe retailers should be celebrating. For that reason, I am requesting that the display be removed and that @ChelmsCouncil apologise for promoting it on social media. Yours sincerely, Janet Murray

The man swimming in this famous painting by David #Hockney is John St Clair who was a photographer and studio assistant in the early 70s. John is an old boy of Bec School in Tooting (1960 - 66). If anyone knows him now, point him towards our FB group facebook.com/groups/BecSchoo…

So odd that men assume I am ‘crying’. I am not ‘crying’. I am doing. I will be attending various Wiltshire Pride Events to monitor police activities because I have a substantive JR hearing coming up about their unlawful support for political ideology. The Chippenham event was very useful because it was not merely a direct urge to political - even violent - action, but the police were entirely absent. Their barrister however argued they were under a duty to visibly ‘support’ gender ideology so now I can ask to see the decision making documents behind this. Bit odd to claim a duty and then do nothing. So I am not ‘crying’ Jamie. Too busy doing stuff that will have an impact on the spread and home of this most insane and harmful ideology.

She was off work for 3 months. Is still on restricted duties over a year later. She had to give up her Sergeant Rank because she couldn't do the role. But it's OK, her spine wasn't actually shattered. Out of sheer luck.
No spines were shattered at Filton. The officer walked unaided from A&E. Later a small, hairline fracture to the transverse process (the bony projection that sticks out from the side of a vertebra) was identified & the officer was advised to take paracetamol. Truth matters.

According to high-profile groups @Amnesty and @LibertyHQ, the Filton Four were "heroes" engaged in "direct action" protests. Not a word towards Sergeant Evans whose spine was fractured when she was attacked with a sledgehammer in a criminal attack. Parallel universe stuff.

To people making videos talking about this so-called “gender debate”, here’s a tip. Please understand that that the SECOND you use the word “cís”, every syllable that came before & uttered after, is rendered null & void. How you haven’t grasped this by now is anyone’s guess…🤷

However passionately I believed in a cause, I could never support a protestor who carried out an act of violence against an individual. I supported the miners' strike but not the blokes who dropped the concrete block. I can't understand why people are supporting sledgehammer guy.

My final thought for the day. Smashing a police officer’s spine with a sledgehammer is not legitimate protest. Good night.

1/ Zack and pals are peddling the attack line “no jury convicted them of terrorism” to try to undermine the sentences in this case. Let me explain why this is fundamentally wrong. In a criminal trial the jury is the judge of the facts and the judge is the judge of the law.
I'd never condone violence against a police officer - this is utterly dishonest. The jury weren't judging them on a terrorism offence. This is an awful sleight of hand. The creeping encroachment of terror laws onto protest & removal of our juries should worry all of us.
