I've played professional baseball. I've coached collegiate baseball. I've evaluated thousands of high school players over the last 12 years. Here are a few baseball truths I've learned: • Failure is inevitable. How you respond to it is a choice. • The game rewards resilience far more than talent gives it credit for. • Body language is visibly LOUD. • You never know who's watching. • Talent gets you noticed. Consistency gets you recruited. • Nobody cares how good you were last week. • The players who blame others rarely improve. • Confidence comes from preparation, not motivation. • The game owes you nothing. • Coaches trust competitors before they trust tools. • Your teammates know if you're real. • Baseball has a funny way of exposing excuses. • The best players are usually obsessed with improvement, not attention. • Nobody remembers your excuses. They remember your actions. Build your floor. Chase your ceiling. ⚾️

What a GREAT perspecitve..👍🏽 My Generation Is Blind to the Prosperity Around Us! I'm sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis (Florida) trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of presidential candidates calling for policies to "fix" the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook's, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we've become completely blind to it. Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose.These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don't give them a second thought. We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty One Times!!! Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful. ?? Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, "An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity." Never saw American prosperity! Let that sink in. When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I've ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided. My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let's just say I didn't have the popular opinion, but I digress. Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country. People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they've never seen prosperity, and as a result, we elect some politicians who are dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism. Why? The answer is this,?? my generation has only seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn't live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, the Korean War, The Vietnam War or we didn't see the rise and fall of socialism and communism. We don't know what it's like to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don't have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it's spreading like a plague."

Hey Jasmine… Black pilot here. I think you missed the plot. Then again, that’s becoming a pattern. I graduated from West Point. I went through Army flight school. I learned to fly the AH-64 Apache. I deployed to combat and flew 55 combat missions over Baghdad. Nobody handed me a cockpit because of my skin color. Nobody lowered the standards for me. Nobody looked at me and said, “Let’s check a diversity box.” That’s what people like you don’t seem to understand. Suggesting that Black pilots, Black engineers, Black doctors, or Black leaders need special preferences to succeed is not empowering, it’s insulting. I didn’t want a different standard. I wanted the same standard. And when you’re flying into combat, the American people don’t care what race the pilot is. They care whether the pilot is qualified. Merit isn’t racist. Excellence isn’t discriminatory. And reducing every achievement to skin color says far more about your worldview than it does about mine.

🇺🇸 Most Badass Ballplayers: Combat Veteran Edition #1 Hank Bauer Hank Bauer, United States Marine and eight-time World Series champion, was one badass ballplayer. Born July 31, 1922, in East St. Louis, Illinois. One month after Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He volunteered for the elite Marine Raiders and was sent to the Pacific Theater. He fought in some of the bloodiest campaigns of the war, including Guadalcanal, Guam, and Okinawa. On Guam, Bauer went ashore on the very first day. He earned his first Bronze Star for demonstrating exceptional valor during intense, close-quarters jungle warfare. He was wounded in the back by enemy shrapnel from an exploding shell. He refused to leave the battlefield. It was his first Purple Heart. Years later, pieces of shrapnel from that wound were still embedded in his back. His Yankees teammates would sometimes pick metal fragments out of him in the clubhouse. The fighting he experienced on Okinawa was even more brutal. Bauer was a platoon sergeant leading 64 Marines. Only six of them survived the battle. On April 15, 1945, under heavy mortar and machine-gun fire, he repeatedly exposed himself to evacuate wounded men. When stretcher bearers were no longer available, he carried casualties himself to the aid station. For that action he earned a second Bronze Star. He was also wounded in the thigh by an artillery shell, tearing a massive hole in his left thigh. He received his second Purple Heart. As he was being carried off, he turned to a buddy and said, “There goes my baseball career.” Throughout his time in the Pacific, Bauer also battled malaria, contracting it twenty-four separate times (that’s not a typo). After the war he returned to baseball. He made the Yankees in 1948 and became a key part of their dynasty, winning seven World Series titles as a player over 14 seasons. He hit safely in a then record 17 straight World Series games. He later managed the Yankees to the 1964 pennant and the Orioles to a World Series championship in 1966. 32 months of combat. 11 campaign ribbons. 2 Bronze Stars, 2 Purple Hearts. 8 World Series Championships. Private Carlton Barrett was possibly the smallest man in his regiment. 5 feet 4 inches tall. 125 pounds. On the morning of June 6, 1944, he landed at Omaha Beach in neck-deep water, machine gun fire cutting the surface all around him. He made it to shore. Then he turned around and went back in. A soldier was drowning. Barrett pulled him out. Then another. Then another. For hours, under constant fire, this 125-pound man waded back into the surf again and again, pulling drowning men to safety and physically carrying the wounded to evacuation boats offshore. But he didn't stop there. He ran dispatches the full length of the fire-swept beach. He found soldiers paralyzed by shock and calmed them back into action. He appeared wherever the crisis was worst, doing whatever needed doing, treating rank and personal safety as irrelevant details. He did this for hours without stopping. His Medal of Honor citation says his courage had "an inestimable effect on his comrades." That is military understatement for: this small, anonymous man held that section of beach together through sheer force of will. He survived the war. His comrades later said his life darkened after he came home. He lived quietly and died in 1986 in California, largely unknown outside of military history circles. 5 feet 4 inches. 125 pounds. He went back in. Remember him.

The reason ID is banned in California (and New York) elections is to enable large-scale fraud. When you combine no ID and mail-in voting, fraud is de facto legalized.
