Proud to be part of the global conversation in precision oncology at #ASCO26 🙌📍 @GEICAM is contributing to the scientific programme with a poster from the ongoing international phase II POLKA study, exploring new strategies to overcome treatment resistance in patients with HER2-negative breast cancer and germline BRCA1/2 mutations. The study investigates the combination of ART6043, a DNA polymerase theta (Polθ) inhibitor, with olaparib, a PARP inhibitor, in patients with locally advanced or metastatic disease. The aim is to enhance DNA damage in tumor cells and explore potential mechanisms to delay or prevent therapeutic resistance. This expansion cohort compares ART6043 olaparib versus olaparib monotherapy in approximately 80 patients, assessing efficacy, safety, tolerability, and biomarker-based resistance mechanisms. The study features contributions from Raquel Andrés and Eva Carrasco, GEICAM’s Scientific and General Director, who also had the opportunity to connect with the study’s lead author, Mark Robson, from @MSKCancerCenter, and Bryony Harrop, Vice President of Clinical Science at @artiospharma—highlighting our team’s active role in advancing international clinical research. 🚀 Our research activity never stops, and congresses like ASCO are a key opportunity to share our progress and reaffirm the value of collaborative science! #ASCO2026 📍 @ASCO @ASCOPost @oncofir

These days at #ASCO26, data from the Phase III FLAMINGO-01 trial, in which @GEICAM is participating alongside @GreenwichLS, were presented. 🆕 Preliminary injection site reaction data comparing vaccination over time in GLSI-100 treated non-HLA-A*02 patients showed a significant increase in immune response. 🙌 Hello again from Chicago 📍 #ASCO26 🙌📍 It is a special moment for @GEICAM at this congress as we present the #CARABELA study, one of our key research highlights 💡 🎯 This translational analysis of the phase II CARABELA trial (GEICAM/2019-01), led by Dr. Ángel Guerrero as first author and presented here at ASCO by Dr. Federico Rojo, evaluates systemic immune, inflammatory and angiogenic #biomarkers in patients with high-proliferation HR /HER2− #breastcancer treated with neoadjuvant letrozole plus abemaciclib versus standard chemotherapy. 🔎 The results show an association between chemotherapy-induced increases in inflammatory and angiogenic cytokines and higher residual disease burden in high-risk #luminal tumors 📈 In contrast, endocrine therapy plus CDK4/6 inhibition shows a more stable immunological profile, suggesting potential differences in biological impact between both strategies. 🔬 These findings support a deeper understanding of how tumor #biology and immune-related changes may help refine neoadjuvant treatment strategies in early breast cancer. 🧪 CARABELA included 200 patients with stage II–III HR /HER2− breast #cancer and high tumor proliferation, providing valuable insights to better tailor treatment decisions based on tumor biology. ➡️ Read the full publication here: lnkd.in/eqJrXJjj @ASCO @ASCOPost @oncofir #GEICAM #BreastCancerResearch #ASCO🚀

🔬🟣 @GEICAM is already at #ASCO2026, where these days have already been filled with many valuable and inspiring meetings, and day one has kicked off with two oral presentations from international collaborative research featuring authors from our group 👇 🔹NATALEE trial This new analysis from the #NATALEE trial evaluated the prognostic and predictive value of baseline gene expression in stage II/III HR /HER2- early #breastcancer treated with adjuvant ribociclib plus a nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor versus aromatase inhibitor alone 🧬 Following the previously reported invasive disease-free survival benefit with #ribociclib, this subanalysis included more than 3,000 tumor samples assessed with the NanoString BC360 panel, including #PAM50 molecular subtyping 💊 Ribociclib showed consistent benefit across all molecular subtypes, while greater benefit was observed in patients with higher genomic risk or proliferation, suggesting a potential role for gene expression profiling in future patient selection. 🔹lidERA BC clinical trial This phase III study compared #giredestrantwith standard endocrine therapy in pre- and postmenopausal women with stage I–III ER /HER2- early breast #cancer previously treated with surgery and #chemotherapy when indicated 🧫 In 4,170 patients, giredestrant improved invasive disease-free survival across both menopausal groups and reduced the risk of #metastatic disease 📊 It also showed a comparable safety profile with fewer treatment discontinuations due to toxicity, particularly musculoskeletal pain, supporting its potential as an effective and better-tolerated alternative. 🙌 We are especially proud of the entire team who travelled to Boston, and particularly of Dr. Miguel Martín, founder of GEICAM and its President for 30 years until last year, whose contribution as an author to both studies reflects the long-standing commitment and dedication of our investigators to advancing #GEICAM #BreastCancerResearch #ASCO26. 🙌🚀 @ASCO @ASCOPost @oncofir

🌍 @GEICAM is pleased to share its participation in the IARC@60 International Scientific Conference: “Cancer Research into Action”, taking place in Lyon (France), from today until Thursday, a landmark event that will bring together global experts in #cancerresearch at the headquarters of the @IARCWHO 📍 🧬 GEICAM will participate through its collaboration in the #CONFLUENCE Project, the largest multi-ancestry GWAS in #breastcancer to date coordinated by @theNCI 🤝 (400,000 breast cancer cases, 1,600,000 controls, across 62 countries and 300 studies of which, three come from GEICAM: GEICAM 2017/07 EMBARCAM (415 patients), epiGEICAM (865 patients and 834 healthy controls) and the GEICAM 2016/04_Male Breast Cancer Registry (181 patients and 109 healthy controls). 🗣️ Today, 19th of May, at the Mutational Epidemiology for Cancer Prevention Session, Montserrat García-Closas, co-lead of the CONFLUENCE Project will present results from this global effort 🧪: the identification of 477 breast #cancer susceptibility loci, including 238 new loci that highlight new candidate genes, improve how much genetic risk we can explain, and help us better understand breast cancer biology 🔬 Ongoing work will expand this to different populations, sexes and subtypes with new insights on improving risk prediction across ancestries. 🙌 We are proud to contribute biological samples and clinical data to this landmark initiative and to take part in a conference dedicated to transforming cancer research into real-world action 🚀 🔗 More information about the #ConfluenceProject can be found here: ➡️ dceg.cancer.gov/research/can…
