Today marks 50 yrs, since @OSCE basic document, the #HelsinkiFinalAct, was signed. 57 OSCE participating states are committed to the shared principles of the Helsinki Decalogue. As Russia is blatantly violating them, it is high time to reaffirm commitment and implementation.

At today’s joint FSC-PC meeting, Switzerland expressed deep concern over the recent aerial attacks in the context of Russia’s war against Ukraine, which have once again severely affected civilians and civilian infrastructure. International humanitarian law must be fully respected at all times. We reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, cessation of hostilities, and a return to diplomacy. ODIHR is deeply concerned by the escalation in Russian attacks across Ukraine in recent weeks, resulting in an alarming rise in civilian casualties. Indiscriminate attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure constitute flagrant violations of #IHL.
