Just added up how many appointments we've gone to and how many miles I've driven since my daughter came home in Jan.
The only appointments she has locally are PT.
All of her doctors are spread out in different directions and can range anywhere from 30-60 miles away.
Since the last week of Jan until now, we've been to 68 appointments and driven almost 3000 miles.
There have been weeks she had 5-6 appointments, some weeks she had 2-3.
But, not one week has gone by where she didn't have something going on.
In between appointments, I'm doing all of her cooking, cleaning, laundry, helping her shower, emptying and cleaning her commode, helping her with insulin, checking blood sugars, helping her with PT at home, doing all of her shopping, etc.
When she first came home, I was so worried about her and keeping up with her needs that I wasn't focused on my own health.
I didn't eat much, I wasn't sleeping well, and I didn't exercise. I ended up dropping some weight.
But, these past couple of months, I have slacked a bit on my diet, haven't gotten back into an exercise routine, and I've gained some weight.
Luckily, my muscle mass never goes away, and it gives me a great foundation to work with and burn fat.
My daughter still requires a lot, but the appointments are beginning to slow down, she's doing a little better, and she doesn't need me as often.
I'll be 49 tomorrow.
All I want for my birthday is to get back on a good consistent path for my own health.
