Another night of environmental thuggery in Stave Hill Ecology Park. A dozen newly planted Elm Trees snaped in half, plus a 'Cowards' message to decent #Rotherhithe members of the public. Volunteers will replant soon and go again. @se16 @DocksDem @canadawatersaf1 @RotherhitheLoc

OTD 3July 1831 the photographer Robert Howlett was born
His iconic 1857 photograph of #IKBrunel in front of the launching chains of SS Great Eastern was part of a commission from the IllustratedLondonNews
He was to die the following year aged 27 probably from typhoid
