India Energy Week 2026 has officially come to a close, marking four days of leadership, dialogue and collaboration at the centre of the global energy agenda. From the Opening Ceremony to high-level ministerial engagements, the event convened the voices shaping the future of energy.
Across the exhibition, global partners, sponsors and exhibitors showcased innovation at scale, while conference programmes brought together ministers, CEOs and industry leaders to address energy security, transformation and growth. Ministerial and leadership roundtables enabled focused, outcome-driven discussion, complemented by meaningful connections and collaboration across the venue.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the conversations that defined India Energy Week 2026 - an event driven by shared purpose, progress and global connection across the energy community.

An ocean of energy opportunities reinforced in the Andaman Sea!
Very happy to report the presence of natural gas in Sri Vijayapuram-3 an exploratory well drilled by Oil India Ltd. 15 km off the east coast of the Andaman Islands at a water depth of 355 meters.
Initial production testing of the well at the depth of 1900 plus meters in the Eocene formation has established the presence of natural gas through continuous flaring.
Oil India is carrying out gas sampling to assess the composition & calorific value of gas and to carry out isotope studies to understand the genesis of the gas.
Under the Samudra Manthan Mission (National Deep Water Exploration Mission) announced by Hon’ble PM @narendramodi Ji on Independence Day 2025, large number of deepwater & Ultra deepwater exploration wells are planned in our offshore basins to fully exploit our hydrocarbon reserves.
Presence of hydrocarbon is now reported in 2(Two) wells out of 3 (Three) exploratory wells drilled by OIL in current exploratory campaign off Andaman Basin.
This presence of natural gas will help us in taking forward our exploration ambitions in coordination with global deepwater exploration experts like @petrobras, @TotalEnergies, @bp_india, @Shell, @exxonmobil and will be a significant milestone in our journey through Amrit Kaal!

Called on the Acting President of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela HE @delcyrodriguezv today with the leadership of @PetroleumMin and CMDs of India’s energy sector PSUs.
India has a long standing energy partnership with Venezuela since 2008 and shares unique complimentarities with the country.
Venezuela possesses biggest proven reserves of oil in the world, while India not only possesses huge demand for energy but also has the technological expertise and manpower to refine Venezuelan crude in our refineries. Venezuela is already among the largest crude oil suppliers to India in April & May 2026, which is a reflection of the future potential. Our technical team will visit Venezuela soon to further explore this potential.
Indian companies already have existing investments in Venezuela and now look forward to building upon them, in addition to looking for newer opportunities for fruitful collaborations which will provide momentum to our quest towards energy security under the leadership of PM Sh @narendramodi Ji.

In continuation of “Youphoria”, an engagement platform for Millennials and Gen Z, “Darpan”, a photography competition, was organised at EIL, Gurugram. Centred on the theme “Engineering for a Greener Tomorrow”, the competition drew enthusiastic participation from young EIL employees, who showcased their creativity through compelling pictures aligned with sustainable engineering.
Mr. Atish Koul, Deputy Manager (FED), Mr. Hitesh Kumar Sharma, Deputy Manager (FED), and Mr. Kapu Praneeth Reddy, Engineer (Construction–Site), were awarded as the best three.
