International lawyer Jason Mccue delivered a blistering message to #Somalia during the launch of the #Somaliland Independence Recognition Institution in Hargeisa, tearing up what he described as the “fake” 1960 Act of Union.
Speaking at the event, Mccue said: “It is not worth the paper it is written on. The government ink on the face of this document only masked your intended tyranny, dictatorship and genocide.”

#Somaliland President Officially Launches Somaliland Independence Recognition Institute
Historic moment in Hargeisa as President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro officially launched the Somaliland Independence Recognition Institute — a new platform dedicated to advancing #Somaliland’s global recognition campaign through legal research, diplomacy, historical documentation and international engagement.
The institute will work to document Somaliland’s long struggle for recognition, coordinate international support, pursue justice for past crimes, and strengthen Somaliland’s rightful place in the global community through academic, legal and diplomatic efforts.
Launched on May 18 during celebrations marking 35 years since Somaliland restored its statehood, the initiative reflects Somaliland’s growing international momentum and confidence on the world stage.
From Hargeisa to the world, Somaliland continues building institutions, strengthening partnerships and amplifying its voice globally.
