I was thinking about what Russell Crowe was saying here and how it relates to what's happening with Stargate right now. The idea that studio executives have no idea what a "moral core" is to a franchise or story can't be understated. Here we have a situation with Stargate.. Where you had a studio - @AmazonMGMStudio green light a renual with all the OG creators of the show involved. And all of a sudden, the project gets cancelled because allegedly, they want to bring in someone that doesn't understand the IP and wants to create a show to reach a "broader audience". There are also rumors that they want to do a hard reboot and get rid of the history of the franchise. We've been here before with Star Wars and Star Trek. Studios going away from the "moral core" of the franchise. Remember the famous line* in TLJ? "Let the past die. Kill it if you have to" These are the new studio execs. The people who are in control are often buisness financiers. They are not artists or even fans. They are not connected to the "moral core" of the stories that we love so much. I don't think most of them even have a "moral core" to be honest. Which is why they keep failing and killing these IPs. Over and over. And why it's so important for the fans to "vote with your wallet" and let our voices be heard. Which is why I'm fighting to #savestargate So we can protect the "moral core" of the story and IP.

Hey @AmazonMGMStudio I think it's time you #SaveStargate and play the "you asked, we listened" card. You can let this whole ordeal work PR wonders for your new Stargate show by Martin Gero, or you can let it go to waste along with the franchise you paid so many millions for.

No, it’s not “Pride Month.” Not for me, and not for millions of others. You’re welcome to be proud of whatever you want, in any month you like—because this is America. But what started in 1969 as a rebellion against persecution, morphed into a license for public depravity, and then morphed again into a weapon aimed at families and innocent children. Along the way it went from a day, to a week, and then a month and became official, and thereby effectively mandatory for all. Enough! If you’re gay and wondering why you are facing resistance now, the answer is that, with few exceptions, most of you didn’t stand up against the expansion and weaponization of “pride,” and the coercion that went with it. In that failure to resist, the gay community compromised any expectation that the rest of us should support “pride” at all, but especially the obscene display of hostility toward civilization and the families of which it is built, and for whom it exists. If your hackles are raised by the idea that civilization is about families, realize that families are how civilizations persist through time. Not everyone needs to form one, but we all must respect and protect them—It is the foundation of what it means to be civilized. For the small fraction of gays and lesbians who DID courageously stand up and resist expansion, coercion and the weaponization of “Pride,” I stand with you, and I have all along. But I won’t be celebrating, and I won’t be silent. It’s not too late to join the voices of reason and to confront the insanity of what “pride” has become.

The response to #SaveStargate has been incredible. From fans, from people involved in building Stargate such as @BaronDestructo and @MichaelShanks, and from a worldwide—even intergalactic—audience, the message is the same: Stargate still matters. Decades after it first aired, people are still watching, discussing, sharing memories and introducing new fans to this universe. That kind of passion can’t be manufactured. It has to be earned. The gate is still open. The fans are still here. #SaveStargate Yes that’s me in the pic 😘

I finally put my finger on it all. Maybe I’m the only one… but I’m overwhelmed with a “the buck needs to stop here” feeling. I’m a huge Stargate fan, but I’m also a SciFi Fantasy nerd in general. And I just feel like so many major IPs, that I dearly love, have been greatly mishandled by studios & executives of late. Yet here was this shining opportunity. Green lighting the new Gero led return of Stargate got my hopes up. Giddy even. With Brad Wright and Joe Mallozzi on board too?! Then the “rug pulled out from under us feeling” was bad enough… but the reported reasoning for the decision?! Just didn’t make sense. Based on what the creatives involved with the project had said in their interview re: taking great care to have broad appeal to newcomers while respecting what came before. So enough. Line in the sand. I wanna show them how wrong they are. Not by being a jerk… but by being consistent and rallying with this wonderful SG community. This family. I’m dug in & ready for the long haul. Because my heart just can’t take another hit to a beloved franchise. #SaveStargate #SciFi @AmazonMGMStudio @MichaelShanks @martingero @BaronDestructo @dial_the_gate @GateWorld
