If the federal government took 100% of Elon’s wealth, it would only fund the government for 52 days. Then it’s gone, and there’s nothing left to take. The problem isn’t trillionaires.

The level of economic illiteracy amongst the general population (and many elected officials) is concerning.

To all the people mad about Elon being a trillionaire, just wait until you learn about this private corporation called The Federal Reserve…

One of the worst things the progressive movement has done for society is convince large numbers of people that the success of others necessarily came at their expense. It’s bred so much resentment. And it simply isn’t true.

The idea people are poor because Elon Musk is rich rests on a basic misunderstanding of how wealth is created. He doesn’t have $1 trillion in the bank. The vast majority of his net worth is made up of investments in various companies, which *help* others make money.

🤔Can't help but notice that the majority of people who want a "wealth tax" and seem to despise the "world's first trillionaire" are people who have created nothing.

The same people who can bankrupt businesses, destroy jobs, and regulate entire industries into the ground somehow expect us to believe they can centrally manage wealth better than the people who created it in the first place. Someone creates companies, products, jobs, industries, rockets, satellites, payment systems, and electric vehicles used by millions of people, and her response is "he has more than me, take it." No discussion of incentives. No discussion of capital formation. No discussion of what happens when governments start taxing unrealized wealth. No curiosity about the consequences. Just the eternal politics of "gimme." Economic illiteracy wrapped in moral self-righteousness remains economic illiteracy. Every time.

Imagine if people were as upset about the nearly $40 trillion national debt as they are about Elon Musk's net worth.

Data centers are pro-growth. We need more investment in America, and this is a way to do it. In fact, if you remove private companies’ data center investments, investment across much of the country would be flat or declining in recent years. Texas should continue leading in data center private investments instead of regulating, taxing, subsidizing them differently than other large structures.
