The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

🇮🇳 India’s AI Talent Is Building America’s AI Empire
Anthropic’s CTO is Indian - Rahul Patil.
Anthropic’s CFO is Indian - Krishna Rao.
OpenAI has an Indian CTO.
Palantir has an Indian CTO.
Even key leadership roles across global AI giants are increasingly being powered by Indian talent.
Yet India still doesn’t have own OpenAI.
India doesn’t have its own Anthropic.
India doesn’t have its own DeepMind.
Meanwhile, the United States is strengthening its lead in frontier AI, backed by the world’s best talent including thousands of Indians.
The recent restrictions around access to Anthropic’s most advanced models are a reminder of a hard reality:
The countries that build frontier AI will control the technology, the intelligence, the infrastructure, and ultimately the future.
India has the talent.
India has the engineers.
India has the market.
What India needs now is massive investment, world-class research labs, and a national mission to build frontier AI models that can compete globally.
The next trillion-dollar company may not be an app. It may be India’s first true frontier AI lab.

The biggest loser from this decision may not be the rest of the world. It may be America itself.
Look at the pillars of American dominance over the last 80 years.
• The US Dollar.
• Wall Street.
• Silicon Valley.
• The Internet.
• AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft.
• Visa and Mastercard.
• GPS.
Why did the world adopt them? Not because America forced everyone.
Because people believed: “The rules are stable. If I build on this, the platform will be there tomorrow.”
Think about the Fortune 500 companies that are restructuring around AI.
Think about the Founders building the next billion dollar companies on these models.
Think about Govt’s & Institutions integrating them into their infrastructure.
If they start believing: “A product available today may disappear tomorrow because policy changed,”
They don’t stop innovating. They reduce dependence. Not because they dislike America. Because risk management demands it.

For a techie making ₹8 LPA in India, a $100/month Claude Max plan is almost 15% of their monthly salary.
The rupee keeps falling, so these tools just keep getting pricier.
At some point, this is going to hurt Indian IT and techies badly. And it is not like there is a Pradhan Mantri Ladla techie Labh Yojana coming to save anyone.

Our Nathu La server, unveiled today, took years of hard work by our Nagpur R&D team, led by Mangesh Sadafale.
It is going into production in Zoho data centers around the world and will save energy and money.
We are also working hard to make our entire software stack much more compute and memory efficient.
