HANDS OFF OUR HORSES! 🐎
The Minneapolis Mounted Patrol is the last one left in the entire state of Minnesota — and the City Council just tried to kill it again.
Just a few months ago, during the 2026 budget process, the Council stripped funding for the Mounted Patrol. Once again, they tried to put these proud horses out to pasture and weaken community policing in our city.
The Mounted Patrol does incredible work in the community. Officers on horseback are far more approachable — people feel comfortable coming up to talk with them. Kids especially love the horses, which helps build positive relationships and trust between the police and our neighborhoods. They provide a highly visible, calming presence at parades, parks, crowd events, and in areas where patrol cars can’t easily go.
They are part of our city, our police, our community, our horses.
