It was my profound honor to receive “Outstanding Diplomat Medal” on behalf of Pakistan from Chinese Foreign Minister H.E. Wang Yi during an elegant ceremony today at @MFA_China - a first time such award was conferred. Being awarded this honor at our most consequential diplomatic outpost, from where we guard and nourish our most ‘iron brotherhood’ is truly a rewarding feeling. However, much more can be done as for our relationship, sky is the limit. This year when we celebrate #PakChinaAt75, the motivation is even stronger! As we commemorate the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations today, the imperatives of dialogue and diplomacy cannot be stressed enough. Turbulence, transformation, and breath-taking technological change mark our world. Humanity continues to suffer from a multitude of crises – from military conflicts to political disputes, from development gaps to climate emergency, and from weakening of multilateralism to serious deficits in global governance. These crises are further compounded by the erosion of trust, depleting mutual understanding, accentuation of cultural and civilizational faultlines, deluge of misinformation and disinformation, and an unprecedented increase in hate speech. Collective endeavors are essential to reverse these adverse trends and to build a better world founded on the three fundamental pillars of peace, development, and human dignity. This International Day reminds us particularly to recognize the value of the diversity of civilizations and to promote dialogue, mutual respect, tolerance, and global solidarity. The path forward in addressing the shared challenges is indeed dialogue among nations and cultures. Very productive visit and discussions yesterday with leadership of Shenyang University of Chemical Technology (SYUCT), Liaoning. Apart from a cordial conversation on advancement of educational & research collaboration, Prof. Xu Guangwen, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Liaoning Provincial People's Congress, accompanied us and showed us around one of its cutting edge labs. SYUCT has emerged as a strong regional hub for innovation in chemical engineering, advanced materials, and industrial technologies. I was impressed by the pioneering work underway at the Key Laboratory of Resource Chemical Engineering and Materials and the Research Institute of Strategic Materials and Components at SYUCT. Equally encouraging was my interaction with Pakistani students at SYUCT. Studying in a country with a different language and culture requires determination and adaptability, and it was heartening to see how well they have embraced the challenge, including learning Chinese language. I look forward to more Pakistani students availing high quality learning and research opportunities in China, a global leader in science, technology, and innovation. Great pleasure to attend collective meeting of visiting dignitaries with Party Secretary H.E. Mr Xu Kunlin of Liaoning Province ahead of the 3rd Liaoning International Friendship Cities Conference. Apart from extending warm welcome, he gave a detailed briefing on the province's growing network of international partnerships, noting sister-city relations with 96 cities across 32 countries. Pakistan has developed strong ties with Liaoning Province through sister-city agreement between Karachi and Shenyang cities. We have finalized an LOI establishing sister province ties between Liaoning and Sindh. Productive visit last week to Mingyang Smart Energy Group (MSE) in Zhongshan, Guangdong province. MSE is a leading innovator in renewable energy and one of China's foremost developers of wind power and clean energy technologies. The visit offered valuable insights into advances in offshore wind energy, energy storage systems, smart energy solutions, and green industrial development. Particularly impressive was Mingyang's contribution to China's energy transition through technological innovation and its efforts to support sustainable and low-carbon growth. Deeply saddened by the devastating earthquake in Mindanao, Philippines, which has resulted in the tragic loss of precious lives and caused widespread damage. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the swift recovery of those injured. Delighted to see strong alignment between industrial strengths of Liaoning province and CPEC 2.0 priority areas; invited Liaoning based pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare companies to participate in B2B investment conference in Karachi, Pakistan on 17-18 July 2026.
